Harvard University philosopher Cornel West says Democratic front-runner Joe Biden will lose black voters to President Trump if he doesn't "get off his symbolic crack pipe" and stop defending the 1994 crime law that he authored.
West, a prominent left-wing activist, spoke with the Washington Examiner after Trump tweeted Monday that blacks "will not be able to vote" for politicians associated with the law, which Biden defended this month by saying it "did not generate mass incarceration."
"I hope and pray he is unable to do it. But if Trump comes out strong on criminal justice reform, he is going to get a slice of the black vote, because this is life or death," West said.

Obama spent 8 years doing nothing to help anyone gut himself. He also did everything Democrats accuse Republicans of doing so they have lost their narrative for decades.

Cornell West tries hard to act like a “brutha” but he is just another plantation foreman with orders to keep Blacks from escaping to outside world where they are free to think for themselves.

It's ok because Republicans were the party of country club nice and lacked intestinal fortitude to do anything or say anything. Squabbles amongst the country club set are seen as "unseemly." Someone show lack of class or attacks another member, you just quietly suspend his club privileges. So much cleaner than this politics and constitution stuff.

I think Biden was right in 94.
When did West get back to Harvard?
He left in a huff because then-Harvard prez Larry Summers, of all people, told West to pay less attention to the “music” career, and more attention to the academic “career”.
I think it was Princeton that was dumb enough to offer him yet another faculty position at the time.
