Robert F. Kennedy’s granddaughter reportedly died of an apparent drug overdose at the family’s Cape Cod compound on Thursday — the latest in a long line of tragedies to rock the storied family.
Saoirse Kennedy Hill, 22, was staying at the sprawling Hyannis Port, Mass., home of her grandmother, 91-year-old Ethel Kennedy, RFK’s widow.
By the time medics arrived to the Marchant Avenue mansion at about 2:30 p.m., the young Kennedy was already in cardiac arrest, the Hyannis News reported.
She was rushed to Cape Cod Hospital, where she was pronounced dead. The New York Times said the suspected cause was an overdose, but an investigation by Barnstable police is ongoing.
The death jolted a family long haunted by tragedy.

I see the Israeli flag on your profile page.And I know that you often post about matters connected to Israel. So I'm assuming you're not Irish! :-)
But trust me when I tell you that the Irish are not quick to forget loyalties...or grudges. Just look at Northern Ireland. Just look at the Bulgers.

I was recovering from surgery when he was interning at Georgetown Hospital. He was making the rounds with a group, one of whom felt compelled to exclaim "he's a Kennedy". He appeared to be annoyed/embarrassed.
The same Joe who had his daughter Rose Marie “Rosemary” Kennedy given a lobotomy for being an embarassment?

Rehab only works when you want to be there. Most addicts don't.
If she was put in rehab against her will, she would start using within an hour after getting out.
On top of that, addiction is a very complicated situation. There is something in her life that she was trying to get away from--to numb herself to. Until that is addressed, her only escape (in her mind) will be her drug of choice.

You assume correctly, which is why it really isn’t my concern.
The Kennedys have inflicted more tragedy than they’ve suffered. I’ll shed a tear for the young lady but not for the Kennedys as a whole.

Faith offers a way out but, in most cases, someone of faith must join in the fight and convince an addict that there is hope. And to convince an addict first that there is hope of breaking free from the demon that has its hooks into them is bad enough, but then the addict must be convinced that life without drugs can possibly be worth living.
And convincing someone of all this who is under the influence of drugs (i.e. someone who is temporarily insane) is a tall order.
It can be done, but IMHO it takes God (in a big way).
But said family won't change their precious lifestyles, so they will continue to be regularly "haunted by (self-induced) tragedy,"
