One of the two people guarding Jeffrey Epstein when he apparently hanged himself in a federal jail cell was not a full-fledged correctional officer, and neither guard had checked on Mr. Epstein for several hours before he was discovered, prison and law-enforcement officials said.
Those details emerged on Monday as Attorney General William P. Barr sharply criticized the management of the federal jail in Manhattan where Mr. Epstein, who was accused of sexually abusing dozens of teenage girls, was found dead on Saturday morning.
We are now learning of serious irregularities at this facility that are deeply concerning and demand a thorough investigation, said Mr. Barr, who, as the countrys top law enforcement official, is responsible for federal prisons.
We will get to the bottom of what happened, he added. There will be accountability.

If they are short staffed, operating security cameras would be helpful to keep watch with fewer people. Apparently their cameras don’t work either. What BS lies.
Info on Warden Shirley Skipper-Scott is scarce.
She did once sue Eric Holder:

Your government at work.
“There will be accountability.
Wouldn’t want to be the warden...he might miss his next bonus.
Don’t forget the coincidence of the cameras malfunctioning at that exact time as well.
Well, we should give Hillary one of the legs, because she should have the other “e”. :)
Is she the warden or associate warden?affirmative action at its best.
Ok, they’re f*ing incompetent. Fire them all for starters. No excuses.
What a joke.
Really, it's academic whether he was a party to the crime or an unwilling participant. What's important is he shouldn't have died, and he did. It was not in his power to accomplish this alone.
But if he was inclined to participate in his death, then it was straightforward for his co-conspirators to let him commit the act. Feign concern for his well-being when he complained of being attacked. Remove the suicide watch at his request. Don't react when staffing levels drop below the minimums to maintain safety. And one little deviation, the transfer out of his cell of his cellmate during that time of staffing shortage, perhaps also for "his safety". Warden Shirley didn't even need to coordinate these things with anyone, she could act on her own initiative. All she needed to feel was a sure sense that Epstein's being alive was much less convenient for her friends, politically, than his death would be for her.
On the other hand, if Epstein somehow developed a zest for life in prison? Perhaps he had vain thoughts of freedom, or a desire to end his days with rectitude. Well, then, the operation would be much more technical. Credentials added to the DOJ system and then erased? Camera footage to alter? Finding the right muscle for the job? Much more tricky, many more hands on the wheel, far greater room for error, infinitely more loose ends to clean up later. Not ruling it out, just saying the whole thing would be much, much simpler for TPTB if Epstein did it himself.
It would be interesting to know the wage of the prison guards who were supposedly working their 5th straight day of overtime at the fed facility, and how much they normally make in overtime pay beyond their regular wage. Maybe they like being short staffed if they make 100k in overtime very year.
Freegards
Why skip the Trump rally? He cannot control every peon in every department, or are you disgusted because there has not been a house cleaning?
Back in the 60’s when I was about 15, I watched a late night newscast where a fellow who was to testify against some corrupt pols came home the night before and was killed by robbers he interrupted.
I don’t see this bullshit as much different.
Do they really think we’re that stupid?
The warden of the MCC facility, Shirley Skipper-Scott, has not commented on Epstein's death.
Isnt it fun watching them throw stuff up against the wall, hoping one of their silly explanations will stick?
I prefer my old boss with his earthy, That sh_t dont flush.
I’m no conspiracy theorist—I seriously doubt he’s part of the supposed Clinton body count—but I have no doubt that someone of Epstein’s wealth and influence could persuade a jail employee or two to be looking the other way while he offed himself.
Besides, if the Clintons were responsible, they would have shot him in the head and then, to cover up the murder, killed everyone else on the plane by having it crash into a mountain, or done something else entirely sane, plausible, and not at all worthy of a James Bond supervillain.
Not that they think we are that stupid. They don’t care what we think!
Just got a text that an employee says there’s a safe on the island that has more than money- maybe an “if anything happens to me” sort of thing..
Maybe part of why the feds are there now.
Dont these guards have a drum recorder in which they have to use a key, placed at various areas in the jail, to show they were there on time?
Those were utterly reliable, built like bank vaults, and basically impossible to hack undetected.
Of course, they have been replaced.
