No, it was your wife and for $5 I thought I was getting a deal.........Fortunately I had drug coverage and it was only another $5 copay for the penicillin.........
..owning a gun is one of the surest ways of turning a Democrat into a Republican...
Yep. Add this to legal immigrants dislike of illegal immigration, and theres another significant demographic lost for the rats, along with Blexit, #WalkAway, good ol boys having had enough, Minnesotans fed up with the Somali insurgence, and what I call Femexit (feminists woke that the rats are NOT their friends) and ouch! Well, theyve still got the faggots.
Too bad! :)
I always suspected that you suffered from reading comprehension.
You’re one of those smart alecks that went to school and studied aren’t you? :)
Lots of states don’t require training - Washington State being one of them. “Shall Issue”. Of course to get a concealed permit you do need to do your fingerprints and a Federal background check.
Welcome to ccw in Colorado. My suggestion while waiting for your chp application to be approved is to take a ccw legal class. They are fun and you learn the ins and outs of use of deadly force situations. And colorado does not have many restriction since no gun signs on businesses are not backed by law.
That's the major problem I have. I have been on many club clay ranges and indoor firing ranges where new shooters had no idea on how to properly handle a firearm...........
Fortunately there were range supervisors paying strict attention to what was going on and intervened ASAP........
I have to amend my post. The subjects of the state of Washington did a referendum (or mob rule as I call them) that before one can buy a semi-auto rifle they will have had to taken a safety class within the last five years.
So, regardless of your military training, safety classes as a kid, and 20 years of safely shooting at the range or in the field, you’ll need to take a class before you buy a semi-auto rifle. That includes .22 rifles. (I’m not sure about shotguns.)
Here is a list of "unrestricted" states.
Alaska
Arizona
Arkansas
Idaho
Kansas
Kentucky
Maine
Mississippi
Missouri
New Hampshire
North Dakota
Oklahoma
South Dakota
Vermont
West Virginia
Wyoming
Oh, I’ve been carrying for almost ten years now. We have to re certify every ten years, and my permit expires again in 2021.
I wonder if the Philadelphia standoff wasn't instructive about the process of attrition.
I have ccw permits in 3-states and two required class and range time to obtain a permit.
I liked the idea of a class requirement...you would be AMAZED at the lack of very basic firearm knowledge of some of the people taking the class.
The classes I completed were all taught by ex, or active law enforcement personnel and were very well done...plus, lots of very good war stories.
The Nevada class was so good that I returned to the school and completed a combat handgun course which was excellent. Had to bring 400-rounds of ammo for the range section. Lots of good shoot-no shoot drills, multiple target engagement and firing from behind cover. Plus competition using a target “tree”.
Wrong...my first permit in my state required me to walk into the sheriff's office and say, "hey guys, I would like a carry permit." Filled out an application, had my photo taken, for the permit, wrote the state a check, and 4-weeks later my shiny new CCW permit arrived in the mail. No class, nuttin.
If only Chicago had the same lack of requirement to carry weapons........The inner city would be much safer. Wouldn't it?
It would be interesting to compare accidental death rates from guns at those states versus states with safety classes. I would guess that those states listed will have lower rates, as they all seem to have a “gun culture” - where most folks have been raised in homes with guns, and were given home instruction and a deep respect for guns from the time they were little.
I know my kids were, as was I.
I agree, and something else I need to check into more, is that some states may recognize a citizen of Az without a CCW as having the same carry rights as a CCW holder just because of Arizona’s home constitutional carry law.
So was I. It makes a big difference.
Still, the number of accidental discharges resulting in death or injury is so small that I would not be surprised if the differences in state-to-state statistics are minor.
I suspect that people who are unfamiliar with guns, and stay unfamiliar, are more likely to be the ones who let them collect dust.
I can’t believe that no one has mentioned that the El Paso Mall was a “gun free” zone. It doesn’t matter how many classes you take, or how many permits you have, or guns that you own, you will not be allowed, legally, to enter that Mall with a gun, and be able to protect yourself.
I really can’t understand why nobody gets that?
Oops, most are not US citizens, many are illegal, so a bit of a non-starter.
