Hurricane Dorian battered St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands, and brushing Puerto Rico. Taking aim at the Florida Atlantic Coastline, Hurricane Dorian is projected to be a major hurricane (Category 3) at landfall.

Unimaginable devastation. More to come as Dorian creeps across Grand Bahama Island.
Drive down the road at 55mph with your arm out the window. The force of the wind at 220mph is 16 times as much.

Air force missions into the Hurricane. I thought it was the NOAA but nope. Are they really throwing soundings, fighting the Hurricane with nukes, or heating it up to promote agenda [sarc off

That scenario is not even possible. Forward motion 6 mph. Hurricane force winds out to 45 miles. It has to turn tonight for that his scenario to happen. Unless it stalls.
A little known storm prep tip: Put a piece of tape over keyholes to outside doors. Keeps them from getting packed with sand.
If you set a nuke off in the eye, you may energize the cane. Would vaporize a lot of stuff and turbo charge the updraft and vapor loop.
Nukes in the edges used to compress, might just also energize the cane like squeezing a spring.
Just checking in on my Florida FRiends and naturally thinking of you, Mom! Be safe!!!
Scary! That monster looks to be but 100 miles in diameter, with very fast rotation.
Crazy to see that pic of a massive hurricane while my forecast up in the JAX area is only for max 37 MPH winds (on wednesday). Something’s gotta give.
There is nothing comforting about a storm continuing to move W when the eye is 127 MI from West Palm Beach.
The Weather Channel said earlier today that there is an area high pressure to the north which may shift east, and that should allow the storm to begin a northerly track.
Has this changed? Our local news tonight showed hurricane winds coming within 20 miles of the shore with an average track error of 70 miles over 48 hours. 70 miles is a pretty large fudge factor while we're waiting for high pressure to come down from Canada and turn it north.
Friends in Palm Beach not fighting mandatory evac. This monster is far too close for comfort. Looks like we're having company for Labor Day.
Time is running out. 127 mi from WPB, moving 5-6 mph, the eye will be at the FL coast within 21 hours if the turn doesn’t occur before that time.
This is WxRisk’s video update for Sunday evening, just posted at 12:30 am. He’s a serious meteorologist, despite the first minute or so (his ‘usual’ intro to his videos), so hang in there. Good graphics, explanations.

Looks like the models are pulling Dorian in closer to the coast, once it turns & heads north, impacting in particular the NC coast ... Wilmington, Hatteras, etc.
Good night, NN. Though I’m far from the storm, these threads provide the essentials we need to stay informed. The video clips from those stranded during the eye of the hurricane in the Bahamas will haunt me forever. The story told by expat in PA above is a reminder that storms of any size and power must be considered life threatening. Godspeed to all in its path.
Forgot to include you, in post above. Freeper regards.

It might eventually go to New England.
Remember that $15M beachfront mansion a certain former president just bought...?

Newspeak translation.
We are sorry Dorian has not turned yet.
