Faculty demanded university boot Chick-fil-A. The administration gave it a better location instead.

If you thought LGBTQ activists in the University of Kansas faculty were mad before, wait till you see them now.
Following years of demands that the taxpayer-funded institution discriminate against a vendor because of its founders religious beliefs, the KU administration actually gave its Chick-fil-A restaurant a better place on campus, The Kansas City Star reports.
Before you assume this was a bold move in favor of viewpoint diversity and fair treatment, it actually fits your other stereotype of universities: that they do everything for financial reasons.
KUs 10-year contract with Chick-fil-A requires upgrades to its location in the basement of Wescoe Hall, where its been for 15 years, that would cost about $2.6 million more than simply moving it to the student union building, a higher-traffic area, a spokesperson told the newspaper.
...
Chick-fil-As bigoted opponents are falling further behind on Midwestern college campuses, according to the Star. The chain already has a presence at the University of Missouri-Kansas City and near Mizzous football stadium, and its sandwiches will be served for the first time at Kansas State home football games this season.

I'm not sure if there are any near me (I live in the very belly of the beast) but if there is I'm willing to try them again....trying something else. No one says you have to like them. I'm rather fond of their chicken strips, but it's such a bit out of my way to get them that more often than not I abstain. Being conservatives, though, we have the luxury of judging them on the merits of what they sell, not their politics.

I am about 30 minutes from RAT infested KU. Hasn't always been that way. The sewer definitely needs to be drained. Did my heart good to see cars backed up 20 deep at Chick Fil A at 95th and Quivira a couple days ago. Drain the Swamp. God bless Donald Trump and God Bless the USA......The Great OZ has spoken. Yo!

I am surprised that the administration cares about money when they could prove they are "woke". Two things:
1. Woke = BROKE.
2. Have you seen college enrollments plummeting?
You betcha these colleges care about money right now.

Your assumption is probably correct as there are only 14 in the state. I’ve
been around them but only go a very few times. Food is good but just not
my got to have food.

I lived close to Oakland University in Michigan. They had a Chik-Fil-Et on campus and would have loved to eat there, but their was absolutely no way to find a place to park anywhere on campus because the lots were filled to the gill. In this case, perhaps it was a bad choice for the restaurant to locate their franchise there. It would seem that many people were frankly denied the opportunity to spend money there that surely would have, and I have no idea how many of the students dined there.

So the question is: Why change location of Chick-fil-A instead of just doing what the supposed to do. Get rid of Chick-fil-A. Actually, any one with Common Sense (which those against them don’t have) would know the reason why. If they are removed, then the College would still be responsible for paying Chick-fil-A according to the Contract Requirements. And if the contract is broken, they MUST pay Chick-fil-A, and there may even be additional monies that must be paid for breaking the contract without cause.

"Here's a bold idea: Instead of unilaterally demanding that Chick-Fil-A be removed from campus, allow the students to decide if they wish to eat there or not. If Chick-Fil-A can't make enough to stay in business, they'll leave. if they can, then the people have spoken and the overly triggered vocal minority can STFU. Why is it that "Coesist" is a one-way street with these people??"Whoa. You mean kinda like a free market?
Do universities still teach that stuff?

".... The internet will give you an answer with just a little effort...."I've never been to a Chick-fil-A restaurant.
According to the internet, the closest Chick-fil-A to me is 46 miles away.
Looks like I won't be going to a Chick-fil-A joint anytime soon either.

Not my favorite either. I have been in periodically because other people want to, but I dont find their food appealing. I want beef, real french fries, or onion rings.

The Kansas River is formed by the junction of the Republican and the Smokey Hill Rivers west of Manhattan, Kansas, home of KSU, and flows east to join the Missouri River at Kansas City, passing Lawrence, Kansas, home Of KU, on the way.
Growing up in Manhattan, Kansas, I remember that almost every urinal in every beer joint in town had a sign above it saying, “pee a lot and flush twice— KU needs the water”, or something similar.

There's one in the Somerset Mall on Big Beaver... We tried going there a few months ago, but the parking lot was so g-d full we turned around and left. We'll try again on a not-so-busy day. I've been wanting to go to CF-A for years, there's just not many in our area.

Yea, I’ve gone there when I was in Troy to visit the library. I was in Waterford so it wasn’t that far.

Actually, I am surprised that the administration cares about money when they could prove they are "woke". Well it is obvious they don't care about having extraordinarily stupid faculty "teaching" the students at their university.
