The conventional wisdom would be that Newman’s support has grown just enuf that, 2 years later, Lipinski is likely ousted.

Unfortunately, the left wing radical “justice Democrats” won elections for the Chicago City Council and two Illinois Congressional seats. Dan Lipinski is a decent guy who will be forced to retire or will lose in the primary. His district has changed from ethnic working class to majority Spanish speaking.
Lipinski may be better off switching parties.
