Charlie detransitioned and went public with her story last year - and said she was stunned by the number of people she discovered in a similar position.
"I'm in communication with 19 and 20-year-olds who have had full gender reassignment surgery who wish they hadn't, and their dysphoria hasn't been relieved, they don't feel better for it," she says.
"They don't know what their options are now."
Charlie says she has been contacted by "hundreds" of people seeking help - 30 people alone in her area of Newcastle.
"I think some of the common characteristics are that they tend to be around their mid-20s, they're mostly female and mostly same-sex attracted, and often autistic as well."
She recalls being approached by a young girl with a beard who hugged her after giving a public talk, who explained she was a destransitioned woman too.
"She said she felt shunned by the LGBT community for being a traitor. So I felt I had to do something."
Charlie is now launching a charity called The Detransition Advocacy Network, with their first meeting set to be held in Manchester at the end of the month.

I woke up this morning with a bad hangover

Business associate we knew was depressed because his wife was cheating on him with kids’ after-school instructor. Divorced, depressed, he then goes to a shrink. Shrink tells him he’s transgender! Last we heard, which was years ago, he believed it.
The only other person we ever heard of who went to a shrink was gay. Coincidence?!

So-called “gender dysphoria” is a symptom of mental illness. I think that the underlying illness is the same in any given generation, but that its manifestation is a cultural thing. It is analogous to how sleep paralysis was once interpreted as attacks by demons, and now it is perceived by many as an extraterrestrial visitation. Same condition, different interpretations. (I have sleep paralysis and know the condition well.)
Now Democrats will pass laws against reconverion therapy.Keeping people miserable is how they keep voters on their plantation.
Suicide, self hate and severe depression is astonishingly common in this community and I have been very concerned with the fall out and human wreckage when the Obama driven, community organized and media exploited fad has run it’s course.
