Democrats block Republican attempt to censure Adam Schiff
New York Daily News ^ | October 21, 2019 | Michael Mcauliff and Chris Sommerfeldt

Republicans seeking to protect President Trump from impeachment failed Monday to formally rebuke House Intelligence Chairman Adam Schiff over what they claim was the California Democrat’s “false retelling" of Trump’s now-infamous phone call with Ukraine’s head of state.

The Democrat-controlled chamber voted 218-185 to table a censure resolution introduced by Arizona Republican Andy Biggs that chided Schiff for giving an “egregious" account of Trump’s July 25 call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky instead of “quoting directly” from a transcript memo released by the White House.

The party-line vote effectively killed Biggs’ resolution. It had no chance of passing — but the vote allowed Republicans to formally express opposition to Democrats’ push to impeach Trump over his attempts to pressure Ukraine into investigating his political rivals.

They tried to censure him and he already has to face life with his looks....

Meanies.

Bring it up for vote in the House every day until the election. Have the dums kill it every day.

Now the question is which GOP reps voted against it.

It had zero chance of ever passing. That is why the Repubs proposed it. Just like when they repeatedly voted to kill Obamacare... but only when Obama was in office and sure to veto it.

When Trump came in, that came to a screeching halt.

-- Bring it up for vote in the House every day until the election. --

If the normal rules of parliamentary process are followed, a proposition that is dubious when following Congress of any federal agency, tabling a measure kills it for the entire session.

A new resolution has to be introduced each day.

Logically, if it is exactly the same as one tabled, it is already tabled. It is important to remember, Congress does not run on rules or logic. It is a brute force institution, void of morals and ethics.

When is somebody going to read the whole of the transcript on the floor of the House so that it goes into the Congressional Record and memorializes what was actually said?
The Senate could do it as well.

Ha! Sure NYPost.....keep pushing that false narrative....that POTUS attempted to pressured Ukraine into investigating political rivals.

No thanks.

Also.....what took Rs so freaking long to even get this bill out? Oh, yeah.....they first had to take turns bashing POTUS on his Syria withdrawal.

Worthless and perpetual swamp creatures, all.

Ex-Republican Justin Amash voted with the Dems.

I wonder if he will run as a Democrat?
