In 2004, Danish Foreign Minister Per Stig Mollers plane to Greenland arrived late for a meeting with U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell and Greenlands vice premier, Josef Motzfeldt. Instead of Moller greeting Powell on arrival, as diplomatic custom would dictate, it was Powell who greeted Moller on his own turf as he stepped off the plane. Welcome to the United States of Americas 51st state, Powell jokingly said as he extended his hand to greet Moller.
Everybody laughed at the time, Moller told the Danish newspaper Berlingske in a recent interview. Now, over 15 years later, its no joking matter.
...the plan for a new U.S. consulate has drawn unease and even suspicion from some in Denmark and Greenland, thanks in part to Trumps colonial-style bid to buy up the island, which the president acknowledged earlier this year.
The diplomatic outpost could be opened as soon as next year, U.S. and Danish officials and experts confirmed to Foreign Policy, though the plan still must be greenlighted and funded by the U.S. Congress. The intention is to hire at least seven staff members to occupy itmeaning there will be about one U.S. diplomatic employee for every 10,000 Greenlanders. It marks the first time in nearly 70 years that the United States will have a diplomatic presence in Greenland, the autonomously governed island within the Kingdom of Denmark...
Next a Trump hotel and casino.
Can you see splody heads?

Why not just let private citizens buy it and form their own “homeland” away from the PC drivel mess that infests the USA?
Powell a Trump emissary? Guess he didn’t stab him in the back like he did the others. Change the name of the place to East Alaska
“meeting with U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell”
WHATTTTTT?
If I were Greenlander I would prefer independence. They are mineral rich and, independent, they could be a banking center too. Its odd, that in the current climate, I wouldn’t suggest they become part of the US. But I wouldn’t. Maybe a defense treaty so Canada and US pick up the cost of policing the seas and airspace.

Install a few Missile Silos and we’d be good to go.
Denmark could back off on their NATO contributions.

The meeting took place 15 years ago.

If I were a State Department employee and sent to Greenland, I’d really wonder who I pissed off.
HEHEHEHEHE.
I told people a while back this was not dead.
The Greenlandians have the right to vote for independence from Denmark according to the Danish constitution. They would love to but the Danes subsidize them while stepping on their necks financially in preventing development being the eco nazis they are.
Greenland will be a US territory before Trump leaves the presidency. He will not pay the Danes a dime. He will pay the Greenlanders handsomely from leases he will sell and royalties on developing the natural resources. Greenland is worth TRILLIONS. Essentially Greenland just needs a bridge loan. Trump will unleash these inuits. Mark my words. Green MGGA* hats will be all the rage at the independence/join the US vote.
(*Make Greenland Great Again)
It will make pretty good sense all around yo to buy it
Bump!
Perhaps they’re already there, and we’re just trying to buy up the land before others do.
Will the liberals meltdown over any plans to develop the mineral resources of Greenland? They fight tooth and nail about future plans for Alaska and have angst about seals.and polar bears. I’m sure they would feel the same about disturbing the ice sheets and glaciers of Greenland to extract minerzl wealth.
And what would Greta say? How will they get Greta to sign off on such plans?????
ROFLMAO !!!
