Apparently the date of the photo is causing quite the debate... I never intended for it to be passed off as today or even recent. Its just the first time I’ve seen it and I was really moved by it. Not singling you or anyone out... just thought an explanation might help clarify things.

How lucky we are. We have perhaps the most patriotic, compassionate, caring President since Washington. God Bless and Protect him and his family.

Amen.

"Can the Democrats impeach him for that?"

They WILL impeach him. CAN has nothing to do with their absolute hatred of the Constitution.

Heck, don't know why it was posted now. I only glanced at it, there was only a bit of text, and I saw the date. Honestly, I remember a lot, but my brain is pretty full. It didn't trigger a recall on me. That sounded like an exasperated "Good Grief" Dave W, but when something is posted in this fashion it is misleading, so I hope that wasn't directed at me.

My mom and dad are buried at Arlington, and since I have never been there during December, I had to think if they even put wreaths at Arlington, because there are a lot of people interred there, and I saw this:

"...On Saturday, December 14, 2019 at 8:30 AM, volunteers will lay 253,000 veterans’ wreaths at Arlington National Cemetery just outside our nation’s Capital. These wreaths symbolize a commitment to Remember and Honor our nation’s veterans through the laying of wreaths on the graves of our country’s fallen heroes and the act of saying the name of each veteran aloud..."

I must admit, it was nice to read this. I am familiar to the Wreaths Across America group, and am gratified to hear they have enough people to get that done in a matter of weeks. That means they get a LOT of people to do it, so there are still a lot of people who care.

If your parents are buried at Arlington, you should volunteer next month on 12/14 and help lay the Christmas wreaths, especially since you've never been there before.

These people are doing this for people like your folks. The least you could do is to help.

Yes, there is a group of Americans who donate and deliver Christmas wreaths for the gravestones at Arlington (I assume they go mainly to the Christian soldiers but hell, as a Jew, I would want one too. It’s the SPIRIT THAT COUNTS, not the religion.

I know. My dad gets one.

I was trying to guess the approximate date the photo was taken.

21twelve provided this background:

Five days later, on December 20th, 2018; President Trump announced the withdrawal of 7,000 troops from Afghanistan.

No doubt the president used this quiet time alone at Arlington to either help make his decision, or to confirm that he had made the right decision.

God bless President Trump.

Part of the “Wreaths Across America” project - probably last Dec-Jan time frame...

Just listening to the man who ran the Veteran's day parade. He said....25 years ago....we didn't have enough money to pull off the parade. One of our people went to Mr. Trump and told him they were in need of funds. "You got it"...said Mr. Trump. And he wrote a HUGE check. Be proud of our President.,...He does many things quietly. It's just his way.

Just read the book President Trump wrote in 1997. He told this story. the rest is that there was a previous Veteran's Day parade that only 100 people attended and this one where his was picked to be the Grand Marshal was because he could bring in the money and publicity.

He did PLUS had everyone attending, Gov. Pataki, Mayor Rudy Guiliani, others I don't know and then... THEN celebraties would call, "can I be in the parade?"

"Yes, donate $10,000" Trump would say and you can be in the parade.

The Chiefs of Staff were so impressed with his parade that MILLIONS attended (it had been a BIG scandal) they invited him up to the Pentagon to meet with ALL the Chiefs of staff. No civilian had gotten that honor.

Civilian Trump got briefings all day long while he was there. No wonder he was up on Syria now. Probably kept up his knowledge from then.

He respects the military and they respect him.
