Jessica Kwong, a Newsweek reporter who wrote an inaccurate article about President Donald Trump’s Thanksgiving Day plans, has been fired by the media outlet, according to the Washington Examiner.....Kwong published an article with the headline “How is Trump spending Thanksgiving? Tweeting, golfing and more” alleging that Trump only planned on tweeting and golfing over the holiday.......The article was published before reports of Trump’s surprise visit to American troops in Afghanistan on Thanksgiving emerged.

Trump and his eldest son Donald Trump Jr. reacted to the article on Twitter, with Trump Jr. writing, “It wasn’t an ‘honest mistake’ you tried to dunk on Trump and ended up dunking on yourself because you couldn’t resist. Notice how there’s never been a story that broke in Trump’s favor & had to be corrected the other way?”

“These aren’t mistakes, they are a very consistent pattern,” he wrote.

I’m quite content any time Trump can find time on the greens....besides he doesn’t just golf with those who are with him.

That was not the reporter’s decision. I guarantee you they will hire her back after about 2 weeks and it will go on reported.

"Sheesh I use to get cheap paper awards like that in high school!"

Yes, but Always-Wrong-Kwong is in intensive training to be in the running for the big hardware award...

Not even the likeness of her severed bloody head would bring comedic relief.

One must only pen what Brennan distributes as scripts. Going off central commands talking points will get you a Mark Rich bike rack.

What about the reporter-shortage crisis? How will Newsweek find a replacement? It’s not as if just anyone can make up stuff to fill the spaces between ads.

Yes.

I thought poor digging for the story, inability to tell fact from fiction and a biased push for the journalist’s personal prejudice to be expressed were a combination that means a Pulitzer Prize these days. He should sue (except they were once sold for $1 and promised they were not going to publish a print edition-—but they lied.

That picture of Trump from Reuters is horrible. Picked for that reason.

US News and World Report jumped the shark in the eighties and nineties. In the seventies, it was good.

Winning!

Hi @Newsweek - we’re actually on our way back from Afghanistan right now. @realDonaldTrump served Thanksgiving dinner to members of the military & thanked them for their incredible service to our country. Standing by for you to delete this completely false tweet. https://t.co/trYHUNtgxf— Stephanie Grisham (@PressSec) November 28, 2019

Yes, you are right, but after reading it for twenty some years it was difficult to give it up. My parents saved 10 or 12 issues at time (I was at sea in the merchant marine) and I would read them all cover to cover when I returned home. But yes, I too noticed that the editors and writers jumped the shark. And I believe it was about the time that Zuckerman bought it.
