Tulsi Gabbard among likeliest House Democrats to oppose Trump impeachment
Washington Examiner ^ | Dec 13 2019 | Joseph Simonson

Of all the House Democrats undecided about voting to impeach President Trump, Tulsi Gabbard of Hawaii has the least incentive to stick to the party line.

The 2020 presidential candidate is giving up her seat to concentrate on her White House race, and she's long been an apostate against her party on some key issues.

In New Hampshire earlier this week, Gabbard, 38, said she remains "undecided" on whether she'll vote to impeach the president. That makes her one of the few Democratic lawmakers to voice skepticism about the pair of impeachment articles passed by the House Judiciary Committee on Friday, for abuse of power and obstruction of Congress.

And Gabbard is the only Democratic presidential candidate not vocally in favor of impeachment.

"I have had concerns for a long time about impeachment being pursued for partisan reasons," Gabbard said Monday. "Pursuing impeachment for partisan reasons is something that will only further divide an already divided country, and it actually undermines our democracy."

She later added that she is "undecided on how I am going to vote."

I agree with your assessment of her. Its all posturing.
She’ll gladly give her vote in exchange for some self-serving objective if she can get it.

She’s not a genuine democrat. Betting the dem party disowns her.

It seems to me she is being positioned as a Sarah Palin-type potential VP choice to protect the right/moderate flank of a Leftist presidential candidate.

Gabbard and Van Drew are peeling away.

All we need is another 24!

The NJ guy that’s switching parties is a member of the Blue Dog Caucus aka a blue dog dem. Tulsi’s not on the list so she’ll do whatever her internal polling tells her to since she’s running for potus.

There are those who think that she is a Trump plant.

I’m certainly open to the idea that she is a disruptor for Dems.

It may be a setup for a dramatic conversion to the R side.

I tend to think that she is not who she says she is.

She's undecided about impeaching Trump?

There's not a dimes worth of difference between her and all the other Democrats.

BREAKING: Dem Rep. Collin Peterson said he will vote against impeachment. Peterson said he expects 4-5 other Dems to do the same.

Every single Congressional Democrat knew the impeachment narrative was bulls**t from day one. Now the vulnerable ones and those few with a conscience are deciding not to toe the party line on this one!

What would be even better is if 2 or 3 (or even more) Senate Rats voted “not guilty”.

I guarantee you that Sinema will be a NO vote. She is an odd duck but she is against impeachment, and she seems to support some of Trump’s agenda, weird isn’t it..she went from a Code Pink whacko to Pro Israel

“Tulsi Gabbard to Trump: “We Are Not Your Prostitutes. You Are Not Our Pimp””

Bad, no slimy, rhetoric, I agree. But I also agree with the point she was making - no US troops to Saudi Arabia.

If it prevents the Left from controlling the House it makes a huge difference. They’ve been doing a lot of damage with that power as you can well see.

Left-wingers can inflict even more damage from within the GOP. Look at McQueeg and Willard.
