Conviction trap for President Trump in U.S. Senate
The Hill ^ | 12-14-2019 | Douglas MacKinnon

Posted on 12/15/2019 8:50:48 PM PST by Calif Conservative

Can 20 U.S. senators withstand the potentially irresistible temptation to reverse the results of the 2016 election and remove a president a number of them openly or privately dislike?

Since Donald Trump announced his intention to run for the White House on June 16, 2015, many of the entrenched elites across the various power centers of Washington and beyond have spent many of their waking hours trying to stop or unseat him

The political charade of an impeachment “investigation” is but the latest example.

But that impeachment charade could harbor the greatest threat to Trump’s presidency.

I don’t get these people who say they don’t want a Civil War. The Rats have been trying to destroy this country for 100 years. Why are we trying to stop them? We won’t be going back to some time in the past when the Constitution meant something no matter what happens. We need a vision for the future like the Rats have. A vision where we send 30 million illegals home. A vision of a country where Socialists and Commies and corrupt politicians have to flee for their lives.

Any Republican Senator who would vote to convict the president had better build a deep bunker and stay down there.

😁👍

I think Yertle is discovering ground he can work with, with Trump. I think Yertle will not permit a conviction.

Now, there will be quid-pro-quo; namely, no Deep State RINOs be exposed.

Speech writer for Ronald Reagen means less than it used to after the way Peggy Noonan has acted.

“Any Republican Senator who would vote to convict the president had better build a deep bunker and stay down there.”

Especially if there are 20+ of them and Trump is removed.

No crime = NO TRIAL.....!!!!!! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸 This is America, not Russia, Iran, etc!!! Rather, more appropriately, INDICT the DIMocrars !!!!!!

The two third requirement for conviction is a constitutional requirement

Just remember - it's 2/3 "of Senators present", not 67.

NO impeachment trial. !!!!! Cuz as soon as the senate exonerates President Trump, the DIMs will just “investigate” him again to see if they can create a perjury charge. 👵🏻🙏🇺🇸

All you need to know is that
1) Yertle said he would allow Trump/WH to determine the defense and
2) Mike Lee already is on board with an acquittal. Now, Lee was a neverTrumper, and so far you haven’t had one single R, not even Minion, suggesting otherwise.

The only issue here is whether to do a fast-track acquittal or to try to use the trial to draw out evidence on DemoKKKrats. I favor the former. Never “take points off the board” hoping for more. Too much can go wrong.

Trump brought this on himself by being extremely weak on crime. The democrats have committed one crime after another, escalating to abusing the power of congress, and none of them have ever been charged with a crime. None.

Romney’s been trying to get rid of trump since June 2015. Fails everytime. That speech in 2016 was a hoot and a big bomb.
