The two third requirement for conviction is a constitutional requirement not a senate rule.

Im no prepper, but well armed and trained, my neighborhood knows who is what, and we all know it might come at anytime.
I pray that sanity prevails, and we avert this. If not, we need to ideologically cleanse our nation and remove the communist cancer among us.
With extreme prejudice.
I took my vow to defend this nation 37 years ago, and still believe it today.

clickbait BS article ... the Senate GOP knows that if they vote to remove President Trump from office, the GOP political party instantly becomes non-existent forever ...
I hope someone is recording who here actually believe this carp. are FReepers losing their minds? it seems they're willing to believe almost anything.

Eternal Vigilance is a must. Healthy scepticism is wise. But, there is a distinct line between healthy scepticism and paranoia.
Some do not understand the distinction.

Absolutely, two thirds for conviction. But it takes a simple majority to set the rules and witness list and set the parameters of the trial. For example, the rules could limit Trump to only defending on the exact articles of impeachment. Things such as how the house started and ran the inquiry or reasons Trump wanted Ukraine investigations could be ruled irreverent to the articles of impeachment. It only takes 4 rinos to join with dems to do that. Like I said, if the gopE can damage Trump enough where he doesn't get reelected they win, even without a conviction.

If you can’t get one Republican vote in the House, how the HELL can you get one in the Senate?

Trump WILL EXPOSE the deep state. Count on it.
My hope is that you are correct. But I think the majority of gop senators are POS and will stab us in the back. And I know for a fact that the dem senators are anti-American POS.

Damage is already done once it reaches the Senate. House will have established precedent they can impeach whoever they want whenever they want with no adherence to the Constitution. Thus we will officially have a banana republic.

Correction: if you're talking about that one from Pennsylvania, it was a *state* senator, not US Senator.
Clickbait is a royal pain.

Donald Trump cannot be impeached without being convicted of a crime. Were the Senate to impeach him, then he will either go to prison or mysteriously disappear. Or worse be murdered. Dont think these people are incapable of his murder. They kill thousands of babies every day and celebrate the killings as something holy. They will kill you and destroy your children if they get the chance. I have seen him, the ghost of Heinrich Himmler walking through the lines of violent rioting jackbooted Antifa in their masks and black uniforms. He is breathing his spirit of baseless hatred upon them. And just like Himmler and his SS Einsatzgruppen they have no intention of coexisting with those who love the God of Israel, and walk in his ways. If you are a true Bible believing Christian or Jew, they are coming for you.
