If the Iranians do increase their response again and we bump their increase I think it would almost have to involve direct military fighting unit against military fighting unit combat. It’s hard not to call that a war.
Modern dems would have taken FDR to task for letting the military kill Admiral Yamamoto in WW2, saying it would just inflame the Japanese and make them more dangerous. Thankfully, modern dems didn’t exist until recently. The old type still pretended to be pro-America.

These terrorist Iranian top dogs figured, wrongly, that they could attack our embassy and worse without any reaction from an impeached president.
They planned to put President Trump into a Jimmy Carter mode after they seized our embassy in Iran.
Trump's response, panicked them and they descended into Iraq to plan more problems for our president and Iraq. 
I'd guess that the dead terrorist was a major driving force behind the Iranian mullahcracy's worldwide terrorism campaign. He wlaos ran the grifting operations and other corruptions that Iranians are and have been hot about. Snuffing his ass gives the medieval fascists who are nominally in charge an opportunity to climb down. Probably won't, though.
