You can draw a 90-percent line on her ‘luck’ and attach it to Saikat Chakrabarti. This guy’s family came from Bangladesh and he was born in the heart of Texas (Ft Worth). Attended college at Harvard, and has a degree software development. He did some time on Wall Street (year or two), and then got a software developer job in Silicon Valley (6 years there). In 2015, he got a significant position in the Bernie Sanders campaign, and picked up a lot of experience.

After Trump’s victory in 2016....Chakrabarti goes and gets partnered up with two other far-left big-names (young guys), and they decide that they have unique talents in bringing people to the winner’s circle. After careful review, all their data said that Joe Crowley of New York fame....was too old for the district. So they went and recruited AOC to run.

Very quickly, AOC got $30k in campaign funds (almost overnight), got into social media use around the District, and was recognized by youthful Democrats in the District. Crowley had never campaigned in the primary period, and felt she was a joke. Had Crowley grasped the social media affect, and organizing capability of Charkrabarti, he would have done more to show her naive nature and dimwittedness.

Charkrabarti goes on to be her Chief of Staff, and was there until August of last year (some social media comments got him in the spotlight). He’s moved on and appears to be aiming at some major agenda work for the Green Deal. I think he’s aiming to either re-use AOC in the future to front this agenda, or find another unicorn-creature like AOC to front some presidency effort in 2024 or 2028.

In simple terms, he’s not finished and with social media efforts and the right messaging....he’s going to be in the future of some candidate again.

It sounds like Mr. Chakrabarti is a classic example of pulling oneself up by their bootstraps.
He went from a child of an immigrant, to getting into Harvard. To working in Silicon Valley which I would perceive meant his income was over $500K/year minimum.

I doubt that his opportunities would have been anywhere near this potential if his parents had remained in Bangladesh.

God Bless America.
