Bills that would have limited how many rounds can be stored in gun magazines and what guns can be sold did not pass in Olympia.
Neither bill was approved before Wednesday's 5 p.m. deadline.
Lawmakers knew earlier this month the proposed ban on firearms defined as assault weapons did not have the votes to proceed.

Yay! Shall not be infringed
Better start praying then, because if history is any kind of guide......
Thank the good lord. But it is only a matter of time... In Washington we have the Governor’s office, the Senate, the House, and the State Supreme Court all controlled by leftist liberal idiots. It was a great place when I was a kid, but we had a huge influx of mostly Californians and new immigrants who brought their socialist nonsense with them.
The property taxes on our two houses have doubled in the last five years. My wife and I have been working for years now to get our ducks in a row to get out of this state.
****I would not put it past the Demos to use some emergency declaration ****
Like California did when their a-s-s-ault rifle ban failed? They released Pat Purdy from a mental institution, allowed him to legally buy guns, passing the waiting period, he then shot up the Stockton school yard and killed himself.
The shelved bill was pulled out and passed before any opposition could be made against it.
I could have written your last paragraph. My wife wants to move to a free state so bad. But work, children, elderly parents keep us here.
Oh well, a five year plan might see us retire and move. We could be snowbirds and visit the schmoopies (Goldberg’s reference for kids) in summer. She’s dragging me to the Monroe RV show in April. She’s also enthusiastic about my motorcycles and guns, so she’s basically a gem.
It’s very sad...Ive lived in NW (WA&OR) all my life...will probably stay and fight...
We are selling our house in Tacoma hopefully in the next couple of months. We are planning on buying a small motorhome and touring the country over the summer and trying to figure out where the best spot for us is. Then we will be back working on the other house so we can sell it in a couple of years, and then it is sayonara Wahington. We do feel bad to leave friends, family and the grand-kids especially behind.
All over the country, they’re going down.
“Not with a bang, but with a whimper.”
