Who Will Succeed Trump in 2024?
The Political Insider ^ | 10 MAR 20200 | Wayne Dupree

If you haven’t noticed by now, the Democrats are focused upon surviving the Trump Presidency. If they can maintain control of the Deep State kakistocracy and keep its leaders out of jail, they believe they will have won. Even if President Trump wins a second term, which will mean they do not have as many dead voters as live Republicans, and that is not likely, there is no successor to Trump.

I worry about this with reckless abandon.

Yes, I would think Nikki Haley is the favorite right now.

I personally wouldn’t mind Pence, but I just don’t think he has the “it” factor to be able to take the fight to the Dems that is needed to win and be successful.

Nikki seems to have that backbone.

Watch out. The Born-A-Citizen-But-Not-A-Natural-Born-Citizen trolls will get you.

Although my personal favorite is Jim Jordan, and Mike Pence is the most well-positioned, I ultimately think it will be Ron DeSantis.

Trump is not RR or any B., they were pretty wimpy (not so much Reagan but he had some faults) but Bush GW was the sort of guy my dad and friends would have duct-taped to the flagpole at school; upside down; naked; in winter.

Ok. Pence finishes out the last 2 years of Trump’s 2nd term. 2024 comes along and Trump(DJT) runs again! 10 years. Then he threatens to run for a 4th term.

“...I am not sure who will replace Trump... the GOP will probably push the same old establishment guys from the UNIPARTY.... And will pretend Trump never happened ....”

The problem is, there is really no one else!
All the choices are from the professional politician class. There are no successful businessmen on the horizon, Pompeo maybe sort of fits. Trump Jr. has made some great speeches, however I am very uncomfortable with his succeeding his father. Pence is OK but its like we didn’t learn anything! I want to see us trend away from the professional politician ranks. I don’t care how well they have served the cause.

I respect Mike Pence but I worry about him at the top of the ticket for a couple of reasons.

I think he’s basically just too nice a guy. He doesn’t have that fire in the belly, that ability to push back in a nasty way like Trump does when the assembled hordes of the media start piling-on him.

I’m also concerned that the country is becoming socially liberal at a VERY rapid pace, and by the time 2024 rolls around Pence’s very traditional values will be seen by most as a weird anachronism.

Trump’s successor in 2024 will either be Mike Pence, Jim Jordan or Mark Meadows.

They all sound fine to me.

No. I mean what I said. With a handful of exceptions since the end of the Civil War we follow a pattern in national election. And part of that pattern is the letter after the name of the president switches every 2 elections. And we’ve been hard on pattern since Bush 1 broke it in ‘88 (’92 he followed the other pattern of sitting VPs that make president only lasting 1 term). Unless something very drastic happens in November Trump will win re-election, staying on pattern. And then it will be a -D’s turn.

Bingo, we have winners...

Folks, no rule in politics is static. Sometimes they have to change.

Don Jr. has enough of his dad's skills that he would be a great candidate.

Further, he's rock solid on the Second Amendment.

Think he wouldn't set up a national conceal carry law?

Don't give me the dynasty B.S.

I'm not ruling out Don Jr. because of that noise.

This IS NOT the Bush family.

Well the problem, is that the political class needs the Koch Brothers et als money... so you know they will support the same stupid things that Trump has run and fought against, because those donors want those things... that’s the crux. I think a lot of rank and file GOP folks understand where Trump is is where the base is now... but they need that money from the big dollar olagarchs.

I think Pence is as bad as Dan Quayle. He’ll try but he’ll flame out fast I think.
