We believe that it is not ethical that this treatment should not be systematically included in therapeutic trials concerning the treatment of Covid-19 infection in France."
- For all febrile (fever) patients who come to consult us, to carry out tests for the diagnosis of infection with Covid 19;
- For all infected patients, many of whom are not very symptomatic, have lung lesions on CT scan, we propose, at the earliest stage of the disease, as soon as the diagnosis is made:
- a treatment with the combination of hydroxychloroquine (200 mg x 3 per day for 10 days) + Azithromycin (500 mg on the 1st day then 250 mg per day for 5 more days); as part of the precautions for use of this combination (including an electrocardiogram on Day0 and Day2). In cases of severe pneumonia, a broad-spectrum antibiotic is also used.
I will be curious to see how that turns out In any later investigations. It wouldn’t surprise me if some bureaucratic government agency wanted to do things by the book and starting from scratch instead of investigating how to utilize current drugs on the market that are proven to be safe but must start from scratch to re-investigate if they’re safe in this new use
This is speculation. There have been some reports in the past that Zithromax may have some anti-viral activity. If it turns out to work, there is little doubt it will be studied extensively and scientists will get a better idea on just how it works.

Who knows. But, for whatever reason, hydroxychloroquine works significantly better against the SARS-CoV-2 virus when partnered with Azithromycin compared to being administered by itself. Azithromycin, with its anti inflammatory properties, also helps prevent cytokine storm and associated lung complications in Covid-19 patients.
I’ve noticed that change with Cuomo recently, the last few times he’s praise Trump has been very revealing as to something going on in my opinion. Now in Washington state and California both of which were also hit very hard I have not heard any praise of Trump over there.

Understand. At this point in time forward, no one on the face of planet earth should give them credit for ANYTHING ever again regardless of what it is....they’ve lost all credibility...they’ve lost the world. It appears that they’re now becoming an isolated nation once again..

Absolutely agree. If the chloroquine/Zithromax therapy works ( and we should know in five or six days since it is being so widely used) it won’t be the first time that medical advances were made as a result of ethical Edisonian empiricism. In fact most medical breakthroughs were such empirical observations and the confirmatory science came later.
China may go full Maoist again after this.
Just why Zithromax may disrupt the replications of the RNA COVID-19 virus may be that it alters ribosome function in some way inhibiting the virus infected cell from producing messenger RNA that is critical for the virus to replicate.

It is definitely, then, due to the combo, as the hydroxychloroquine opens the virus in order for the zithromax to access the RNA.
Pretty much the same unlocking process allows zinc to affect the virus directly. Probably a more direct process?
Early on, retrovirals were tried, due likely to the presence of HIV genetic strands. Can I speculate that the retrovirals also work better in combo w/hydroxychloroquine?
Thank you. I assumed, from the lack of any other responses, that this process is still only speculaation. No doubt specific experiments will be performed and eventually we’ll know exactly how it all works.
President Trump talked about this in today's press conference. He also confirmed the treatment will start on Tuesday. He said:
"Why should be testing it in a test tube for a year and half when we can be saving thousands of people right now...we think it might work based on very strong evidence...I want to tell you, I'm very excited about that...this has been taken for a long time so we know a lot about this."
This could be amazing news. We will know very soon.

(I took it a few years ago and had a semi-serious problem because Z-pack interacts with most common inhalers. It is also problematic with some coronary and liver diseases).

Has anyone publicly asked Fauci why we have shut down our economy for the C virus but did not do so in 2009 for the H1N1 which infected 60 million Americans and killed 12,000? Also, did he recommend it then? I think he was in the same position of authority as he is now.
