Every morning at 10 a.m., the Maryland health department publishes an update to its sobering data about the rapidly spreading coronavirus. The latest state data showed the number of cases among people ages 10 to 19 more than doubled over three days. It documented how the number of cases among women in Maryland surpassed those among men. And it registered cases as they’ve sprung up in county after county after county.
But absent so far is a breakdown of cases by race. Some lawmakers say publishing this information while the pandemic is ongoing is vital so that state officials can monitor any disparities as they arise. “We’ve always known that, historically, there’s been health disparities in communities of color. It’s important to get ahead of it," said state Del. Nick Mosby, a Baltimore Democrat who is running for City Council president.
Mosby started using social media Sunday to push the state to begin publicly tracking cases by race, in addition to age, gender and geographic location. Doctors across the country are making similar calls as some researchers caution black people in America could be hit especially hard by the public health crisis.
Baltimore’s population is more than 60% black.
Asked during a Monday news conference whether the state could report cases by race, deputy state health secretary Fran Phillips said, “I’m not aware that we have looked into that.”
A spokesman for Republican Gov. Larry Hogan, Mike Ricci, said Monday he didn’t have an update on Mosby’s request. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has not yet made data available by race, either, although high-profile Democratic lawmakers are pushing for more public information....

The “people of color” angle as presented is retarded, but we SHOULD collect this data. Was watching a clip of a Chinese program talking about engineering viruses to target specific ethnicities. What if this is bio-engineered to wreck havoc particularly hard on a European ethniticity.

Agree. All data is valuable at this stage. I have read that type A blood group appeared to be more susceptible and type O seemed to be less susceptable. Will that hold up over time? Who knows, but it’s important to get reliable data to offset these threats.

Baltimore was a broad shouldered, hard working, ship building, car making and steel smelting economic power house until the globalist Free Traitors™ destroyed it. Baltimore was not competitive on a world scale and lost out to more competitive cities.

ACE2 receptors, the “handle” the virus grabs on to to jump into the cells expresses in different %ages in different races/ethnicities/genetic origins. That said, pointing out differences has no medical benefits. It will be used as a wedge to drive inter group animosity.
Where is this going? specially-privileged, members of government-certified victim groups getting an additional check from the government? quadruple checks for female spanish-speaking muslim transexuals with a peanut allergy?
Special tax for White Christian males with all their original parts?
ACE2 receptors actually express highest in Asians and lowest in Africans. That is the “Handle” which the virus uses to grab on to a cell and get in through the membrane. Northern Europeans are just above the Africans in expression of the receptor. How many cells can be infected is influenced by how many ACE2 receptors you have on cell membranes.
Looking at global infection rates and outcomes thus far the real world differences are small. This is just another attempt at driving wedges between groups because group animus lends itself well to group control.
I actually think, the data may show some surprising results. The infections in the DC area came from tourists or immigrants; that is, large number of Chinese and Iranians (now living in America) returning from visits, or people coming back from trips to Italy.
That suggests it hit higher income communities, but probably spread wider by those using subway system - I have a friend recovering who believes he caught it on the metro.
Again - the data will probably be abused, but I'd like to know.

The Democrats have always been about low information. They probably figured the death rate would be much higher by now.the news conferences and panic is getting the information out about the virus to everyone. Those that chose to ignore warnings are the problem.
And what if blacks are underachievers in catching the virus? Are we going to start a deliberate infection program?
So far, from what I’ve read, more men are dying than women. In order to be totally fair, we should not treat women until their death rate equals that of men.
