Without further explanation, I really don’t see PDJT giving them enough rope to hang themselves. I’m starting to think the Deep State is going to have him for lunch.

Here’s what I think (worth at least $.02).

DJT has no choice but to restart the economy ASAP. The shutdown has been a disaster far beyond COVID-19.

Due to its highly contagious nature, C19 will make its way through most of the population. As long as the hospitals aren’t overwhelmed, the same number of people will die with a long drawn out curve, or a short higher curve. BUT, a short curve reduces the enormous economic pain.

The only other advantage to drawing things out is that better treatments may be developed - and that’s what we should all be hoping for, an effective treatment. I still have some hope for HCQ+Zithro+Zinc, but haven’t heard much new information...

At any rate, if DJT can get the economy largely back on track by November, AND fewer than 100,000 die total, I think he’ll easily win the election. If either of those things isn’t true, things will be dicier...

We’re believing polls now?

Quote: “When you see such contradictory polling, such as Trump approval up, while at the same time, Biden is up by 10 points on Trump, you know that both of those polls cannot be accurate.”

Or that the media is doing exactly what they were always going to do. If a dead cat had emerged as the democrats nominee, you could bet that the polls would show it leading Trump, or Jesus for that matter if he was President.

You believe polls, we get that. I imagine you were unpleasantly surprised in November 2016.

Did you read my previous posts, clown? I said that all polls are suspect, Gallup is especially bad and April polls are worthless. However, the media parroted the poll from two weeks ago but are silent now.

The double-standard is what this is about.

Your positing history suggests something else though, and you dodged the question.

“Here is the reality. April polls are worthless.”

****

ummm, I thought a vast majority here on November 12, 2016 stated that polls are worthless. So why is everyone throwing a hissy fit?

Because the media isn’t mentioning this poll, and the concern trolls aren’t either, they selectively report their narrative.

I assure you that I gave it the attention it deserved.

If all polls are suspect then why should we care if the media plays this one up or not? Trump's approval could be 80% or it could be 20%. The only poll that matters is on November 3rd.

Your positing history suggests something else though, and you dodged the question.

Does it now? Well I guess I'll just have to learn to live with your disapproval.

‘If,on Election Day,American voters are smart enough to know that any difficulties they’re experiencing are thanks to the Red Chinese then he’ll be reelected’

don’t know about that. if the scaredy-cats posting on a local FB page are any indication; they know perfectly well that China is to blame, and they still say Trump made things worse...

‘I’m starting to think the Deep State is going to have him for lunch.’

might happen; might not...one thing people on this forum have to consider is how difficult it will be for Trump to catch lightning in a bottle again, especially this crappy year...and, FWIW, I think Biden will announce he is withdrawing from the race within the next month...

disagree; there will be nothing easy about this election...and you are quite optimistic about this year’s fourth quarter being robust, with reopening businesses having to contend with reduced business capacities and distancing requirements...and regardless of the death total, it will be hung around Trump’s neck like the proverbial millstone...

I am quite optimistic. The fact of this is that if people over 65, and people with severe (not mild) health problems take precautions and have a low infection rate, the mortality rate for the entire rest of the population is much lower than flu. Mortality is heavily concentrated in the elderly.

There is absolutely no need for those not in vulnerable groups to take any precautions beyond common sense social distancing and good hygiene. Let the thing run its course, it's going to anyway. The government has already admitted it: "All we can do is flatten the curve".

The Swedes were right, and paid no great economic price while having a similar (or better) health outcome to ours.

All of the above doesn't even presume a viable treatment. If that's confirmed, things will get better exponentially more rapidly.

To address the last of your points, regarding this being a "millstone" around Trump's neck, most people are wise enough to see the following things:

There are other points, but those are enough for now. ;-)

Have a great Friday all!

Yep, you are a never-Trump troll.

And I suppose you believe all those polls that have Trump behind in all the swing states and are absolutely devastated by them, heart-broken, convinced Trump is going to lose?

If Creepy Joe gives up and they pull someone who hasn’t even run in the primaries to take his place, the Bernie Bros are going to pitch a 1968 Chicago democrat convention style fit!!!

Joe has to get the nomination, pick the Cackler or ManShell, and then resign.
