I would pick naive. Trump agreed not to campaign against him. It appears that he does not keep his word. That’s the essence of this story, despite the highly slanted spin. They were friends once, and he’s an elder statesman. This was not right.
I’m not turned against Trump just over this, but it does diminish him.
July 14th
Merrill was running in the Senate primary, but he made no impact at all, which is a bad sign. You want a candidate to at least make a good showing and have people say, “Well, you didn’t win this time, but we’re gonna support you for something at the next available opening.” The political world is littered with the corpses of statewide officeholders below Governor who didn’t make it to the next level for whatever reason.
I see Hunter tried to get into the State Senate but was defeated in the primary, so that’s a good thing.
At this point, Tuberville doesn’t have to spend a cent. Save it for destroying Jones in November. Be curious to see which Dem candidate gets more votes (in losing), Jones or Plugs. If Jones doesn’t get more votes than Plugs, that will really be embarrassing.
Their primaries ? No. The general ? Yes.
If Derp Jeff endorses Jones, it will not help Jones in the least, but will only to serve every allegation made against Sessions was correct.
I’m right here. I’m not playing the game anymore.
Why didn’t W Bush lose on purpose?
He almost did. But he wanted the job. The other three really didn’t.
As much as I love and revere Bob Dole, he didn’t have the fire in the belly or drive to win in 1996. HOWEVER, he was not actively sabotaging himself or his campaign or other Republicans. He was a genuine war hero, a patriot and loved his country.
That was the difference between him and McQueeg, Willard the Rat and El Jebbe. He also showed real class in standing up for Trump and not dumping him overboard as these despicable cretins in the party did.
I’ll add to that Bush, Sr. similarly lost interest in 1992 and should’ve stepped aside rather than subject the country to what followed. And Pee-Rot was only in it to sabotage Bush and didn’t want to be President, either. Guess who did really want to be President ? There’s never, conversely, been a Demonrat ringer for a Republican. They ALL want the power.
Didn’t you say Mitt thought he would beat Teddy and get elected in 1996?
I’m with Tom Tupperville too, or anyone else my keyboard spells out, who this time is not named Sessions, (sad to say).
Jeff muffed up on finishing his fine senatorial legacy, in a bizarre fashion. Disappointing to say at best. A Barney Fife exhibition, at worst.
He thought by beating Ted the Swimmer that the GOP would be so “grateful” to him that they would hand him the Presidential nomination in 1996. The question then is whether he was going to be a ringer for Bubba the Rapist or would’ve attempted to win. Regardless, the damage he’d have inflicted would’ve been ghastly.
As an aside, since he ran as a social leftist for Senator against Kennedy, had he won the race, he’d have had as much difficulty as pro-aborts Pete Wilson and Arlen Specter when they ran in 1996 and fared poorly.
Sessions on the local radio today explaining again
He is worthless
Did nothing for Alabama
Tuberville on a dueling channel talking his goals and Trump endorsement
It all comes down to who turns out
Sessions voters will show up as always
Do you think maybe the President didn’t like Jeff saying a few weeks ago that he (Jeff) was the one to carry P.Trumps agenda forward? A little ballsy, considering the pickle he left the President in with his recusal.
So he was an inept AG, which is how come he was belatedly fired. But he was an early supporter of Trump, which is how he got that job in the first place, and he is unlikely to get the POTUS into any further pickles as a Senator. And he still has the same agenda, to bring the borders under control, restrict immigration from terror-sponsoring countries, rebuild the military, etc.
