IRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) Virginia Beach Fire and EMS employees were pushed and kicked Monday night while trying to save the life of a motorcyclist, officials say.
When firefighters arrived in the 900 block of Atlantis Drive in the Seatack community shortly before 9 p.m. an unruly crowd gathered and rapidly grew in size and out of control, surrounding the scene , according to a Virginia Beach Fire Department daily briefing report obtained by WAVY-TV 10.
As firefighters tried to treat the man involved in the crash, several were pushed and kicked the briefing said. The victim ultimately died from his injuries on the way to the way to the hospital, according to Virginia Beach Police.
However, the report goes on to say that some from the crash scene followed an ambulance to Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital and began to jump on, kick and hit multiple EMS vehicles causing damage.
The emergency room was placed on a temporary lockdown as a proactive measure to ensure everyones safety Sentara spokesperson Lauren Patton wrote in an email. The lockdown ended without incident but Patton said she wouldnt elaborate further due to patient privacy.
Virginia Beach Fire spokesperson Art Kohn confirmed that no first responders were injured as a result of what occurred, but deferred to Virginia Beach Police regarding a potential investigation or charges.
Virginia Beach Police didnt respond to a request for comment by deadline.
At this point, it is not known who attacked first responders and what their motive was. Friends and family of the crash victim, who has yet to be identified by police but was referred to by family as C.J., didnt provide any additional information about the incident other than to say that some family members on the scene were extremely upset in the immediate aftermath of the crash.
A memorial has been set up at the scene.
Max Gonano, president of Virginia Beach Professional Firefighters said the whole situation is concerning.
If the scene is not safe, it is impossible for us to adequately do our job. And then when we cant do our job
the public suffers and it is dangerous for them as well, Gonano said. I just hope it doesnt happen again.
Time to put some real hurt on these mindless “protesters”. If we don’t clamp down now, this will become the new “normal”.
Gotcha.
There’s a Section 8 apartment complex near there.
If any residents participated in this, they should be evicted from public housing.
Seatack most certainly is dominated by one ‘ethnicity’.
If firefighters respond, they should do so with a tanker. Hose down the protestors getting in the way.
It wasn’t that long ago that two reporters for our Virginian Pravda/Red Star got their @$$3$ kicked near the Norfolk MLK memorial. Perhaps the Channel 10 reporters remembered that incident.
Do we need to view the event, or have we guessed correctly without doing so?
All they know is escalation, it is how they are brought up in the world.
When my ex-daughter in law was in Med School in Seattle in the 1970s she was doing her stint in emergency room basics. While there a member of a Seattle black gang who had been shot was beought in. As the regular staff and medical students were starting to work on the gunshot victim the doors burst open and members of the rival gang who shot the victim/patient came in, trashed the emergency room, assaulted the patient, raised hell, and terrified everyone. And not a word of this was mentioned by the media.
these unknown attacks are now getting so frequent, bad, and open that word is starting to leak out despite the Soros influenced media.
It’s coming to the point where the first responders will have to refuse going to, shallwe we say places they aren’t welcome. And, despite the media first responders will have to not help people of certain ethinic as well as racial members who can’t assimilate in normal civilizedd society. This too will enrage the media and those of certain well known races and ethnicities. No first responder should have his life in danger by the laws of the jungle.
To some the law of the jungle is in their DNA. We civilized citizens must resort to our own laws about jungle fighting in our own cities. Jungle law means a high casualty count on both sides. The fight has been ignited by the lawless.
It’s time for the law abiding to understand that the first law of the jungle is Survival. it’s a jungle out there and we must fight back knowing and using our own personal laws of the jungle..
I believe I saw somewhere today that the St. Louis, MO couple in their gated community will be cited for brandishing weapons after a mob broke down the rich couples r gate and came onto theier property.
Yes boys and girls, (while we can still be called by our birth sex) the good guys are going to be stabbed in the back by thier own people.
Puzzling isn’t it? No, it’s the law of the jungle mixed into electoral politics and a crazed bureaucracy.
