IRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) Virginia Beach Fire and EMS employees were pushed and kicked Monday night while trying to save the life of a motorcyclist, officials say.
When firefighters arrived in the 900 block of Atlantis Drive in the Seatack community shortly before 9 p.m. an unruly crowd gathered and rapidly grew in size and out of control, surrounding the scene , according to a Virginia Beach Fire Department daily briefing report obtained by WAVY-TV 10.
As firefighters tried to treat the man involved in the crash, several were pushed and kicked the briefing said. The victim ultimately died from his injuries on the way to the way to the hospital, according to Virginia Beach Police.
However, the report goes on to say that some from the crash scene followed an ambulance to Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital and began to jump on, kick and hit multiple EMS vehicles causing damage.
The emergency room was placed on a temporary lockdown as a proactive measure to ensure everyones safety Sentara spokesperson Lauren Patton wrote in an email. The lockdown ended without incident but Patton said she wouldnt elaborate further due to patient privacy.
Virginia Beach Fire spokesperson Art Kohn confirmed that no first responders were injured as a result of what occurred, but deferred to Virginia Beach Police regarding a potential investigation or charges.
Virginia Beach Police didnt respond to a request for comment by deadline.
At this point, it is not known who attacked first responders and what their motive was. Friends and family of the crash victim, who has yet to be identified by police but was referred to by family as C.J., didnt provide any additional information about the incident other than to say that some family members on the scene were extremely upset in the immediate aftermath of the crash.
A memorial has been set up at the scene.
Max Gonano, president of Virginia Beach Professional Firefighters said the whole situation is concerning.
If the scene is not safe, it is impossible for us to adequately do our job. And then when we cant do our job
the public suffers and it is dangerous for them as well, Gonano said. I just hope it doesnt happen again.
“It is time to go Genghis Khan on these people. It is time...”
It is long past time! When will the citizen patriot say enough? The government, that we pay for with our taxes, will not stop these Marxist useful idiots, so it is up to us.
Cops in New York dont want to accompany the coroners to pick up the bodies much less investigate the crimes. The thugs and gangs rule the streets. Urban America is alien and unlivable.
LA cops, new acronym for proactive enforcement is FIDO. Eff it, drive on.
FIDO
Thanks to Yogafist for the new acronym above!
Please speak a little more plainly. Maybe restate your message. I’m trying to understand who in the world would be harassing Emergency workers? Were these Gang members? Were these people attacking anybody who looked ‘white’ at the worst possible moment?
Who could be so foolish? What would there be to gain by disrupting the work of first responders?
If I knew much about Virginia Beach, I would likely have my answers.
“This needs to be beaten back into its lair.”
Ambient temperature sounds preferable.
Are you listening FBI/Barr/NSA?
Basically the same behavior you’d expect in a Capetown ‘township’. That’s the level that we’ve reached now.
Most firemen I know are pretty jacked.
Don’t they still have axes?...
It has been this way for some time. I know of departments where firefighters cannot wear their uniforms on the street as they will be attacked for having not saved the town from a wildland fire. I know EMTs who have been threatened by immigrants and gang members if someone in their care dies. we had to pull back from a fire because an angry crowd grew threatening because we did not attack a fully involved mobile home but went about containing it to save other structures.
“Virginia Beach Police didnt respond to a request for comment by deadline.”
Apparently they don’t respond to anything anymore. Might as well not fund them.
EMS, Fire, and Police should not serve these “communities”, and let them do it themselves.
No mention of race, color or creed.
Tells us with a 99.99% probability what the color/race was!
Fire and EMS should avoid that area of town until it sorts itself out.
I'd like to see them prosecuted for felony murder. These lawless thugs need to be removed from society.
Reading between the lines of the story, it doesn’t sound like a BLM protest. It sounds like whatever caused this motorcycle crash, people were upset about it, and the pushing and shoving may have had to do with the people involved in the accident, not the EMS units. Note it says people followed to the hospital, and the ER had to be locked down, so it sounds like people might have wanted to get at the biker in the ER.
Just one event will have them thinking just one
No mention of race, color or creed.

We know what that means.
“So it isnt just cops?
Anyone wearing any uniform?”
They would have attacked you if you had had the temerity to help as a good Samaritan. They are savages.
