And this guy most certainly had a knife in his hand, plus was digging around in the car after being told to stop. No cop is going to allow you to walk away and start reaching into your car. That’s just begging to be shot, and for good reason.

All on parole/probation. maybe with warrants, doing things which virtually guarantee police contact, and the probability that they will be going to jail, maybe for some time. The perp walks around the front of the vehicle.... He clearly reaches into his back pocket and produces a long slender metallic object.. it’s in his right hand... He opens the car door with his left hand and starts to get inside...he is part way in when a cop grabs him..he turns to bring whatever is in his right hand to bear... At this point the officer steps back and shoots....clean justified shoot

The police once were able to handle people one on one. ‘We’ can’t fix society. People will disobey authority. ‘We’ can have higher fitness and training for the police. Downside is that lots of them are unionized and that prevents change. Basically, public teachers with guns and arrest authority with less accountability.
