Can the taxpayers take the stadiums back?
Why is it shocking? What did they expect would happen?
Down only 30%, I guess there was some pent up demand that watched. It will soon be down 50%, half the audience has been chased away.
Do fans not want to be lectured about Black Lives Matter and all the social justice stuff????
With everything that has happened in the last few months, I’ve heard some people say they like some semblance of getting back to normal, which includes sports. Yet big numbers of NFL fans are not watching; not craving that normality with their favorite sport? What the heck?
I wonder what the explanations for decline in viewership will be? We aren’t officially allowed to say that people are tuning out because of all the social justice warrior stuff. So I wonder what will be said “officially”.
Not watching those ingrates for one minute.
I will continue to post this until I see it reported in the NY Times, WaPo, and on NBC, and CNN
(Please disregard if you have already seen it)

I deliberately and studiously avoided watching or participating in their disgraceful display of disrespect for the american people.
As former season ticket holders, this has been the most enjoyable season of not watching the NFL yet!
Im so sick of the word you cant write here
Wish it was more, but 30% is a start.
Anyone know if sports bars and restaurants are counted in the ratings?
If so, these numbers are likely far worse.
Money talks, BS walks. I don’t think that the owners and the players have a clue about what is happening to them. They think that they will become folk heroes in the Woke world and will be praised for their behavior, so there is no downside from their perspective. They are about to find out that that thundering sound is the fan base walking away.
Stadiums are already empty or with limited in stadium fans, so those revenues are gone. The networks will not continue to pay at high ratings level when the low ratings become the norm. The advertisers will start to bail right away, so the networks will take a bath until they can renegoitiate the TV contract.
I am a diehard Chiefs fan, so I watched most of the Thursday game, muting all of the ads, but I skipped the weekend games and will not watch tonight’s game. The top teams like the Chiefs will make it through this, but the weak teams are in trouble, and the league is blowing this one.
List of NFL Sponsors.
Watched football for 60 plus years. Will not watch it this season.
Gee, I took no notice.

This--as other reports of similar antics, is sickening. But the ultimate blame is not on the players, but the NFL bureaucracy, starting with Roger Goodell. With his sanctioning these "protests," many of the players--given the population of the League, are put in an incredibly awkward position, were they to refuse to participate in the Goodell sanctioned activities.
The coming together of obvious factors actually demonstrate the absurd betrayal of the players' actual interests by the NFL bureaucracy! Think about it.
Protesting or speaking out is one thing. What is not appropriate is for players making many millions of dollars, being displayed suggesting their race is not being fairly treated in contemporary America!
The players are being manipulated--made to look ridiculous-- by a media & their sycophants, as pawns in an attempted revolution. It calls to mind the French Revolution & the march on the Bastille led by the King's cousin from his enormous Left Bank palace, while dressed in peasant garb!
If Roger Goodell had a functional brain, he would not allow this farce, which can only make the high salaried participants look like ridiculous hypocrites!
Virtue signalling? No!! An inappropriate betrayal of reason!! Obvious betrayal of trust.
Shocking.....lol
YIPEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Good.
I’ve been a football fan all my life, but I just couldn’t turn the TV on yesterday - my stomach turned just thinking about it.
