Democrats are willing to "demonize" Amy Coney Barrett in an effort to derail President Trump’s Supreme Court nominee out of spite, Sen. Marsha Blackburn, R-Tenn., said Sunday.
Blackburn, a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee that will approve the nominee, made the comment on "Fox & Friends" after two of her Democratic colleagues said they will not meet with Barrett, characterizing her as an "extreme jurist who will decimate health care."
"I think it is very petty of them not to even open the door and sit down and have a conversation," Blackburn said, "but ... this is how the left treats conservative women."
Democrats repeatedly indicated that they will oppose Barrett’s nomination, citing her conservative credentials which they see as a threat to health care and abortion rights, while also arguing that it is too close to Election Day for Trump to nominate a justice.
Sen. Richard Blumenthal, D-Conn., who joins Blackburn on the Judiciary Committee and will play a role in confirmation hearings, said he would oppose her confirmation “as I would any nominee proposed as part of this illegitimate sham process, barely one month before an election as Americans are already casting their votes.”
Sen. Mazie Hirono, D-Hawaii, also said that she would not meet with Barrett when asked on CNN, although she said she would question her at the hearing.
“I will not be meeting with her, I will take the opportunity to question her when she is under oath,” she said.
Republicans are not too concerned by Democrats not meeting with Barrett, having indicated they have the votes, both on the Judiciary Committee and in the Senate chamber to confirm Barrett along party lines before the election, Blackburn said.

The left hates women and femininity and seeks to destory both. They call men who dress up as caricatures of femininity women. They insist relatively weak boys are allowed to compete with young girls. They encourage women to be loose with their sexuality, and then traumatize themselves with abortion. Everything the left stands for with regard to sexuality is aimed at devaluing and destroying women and femininity. Conservative women love themselves and honor their own womanhood. We know that masculinity and femininity are both essential to healthy societies, healthy families, and healthy minds. They hate that we can love ourselves, embrace our femininity and not put it in competition with masculinity. Masculinity and femininity are seperate from each other and deserve to be honored and supported seperately. Likewise it is normal for each person to have a little bit of both characteristics in them, especially as they age.
I’m not furious at all. The Kavanaugh confirmation showed me that our side has some people who know what they’re doing.
The numbers are there for this SC seat.
Let Trump get something out of the confirmation, too. He has Karens to reach, since this seat apparently has female genitals attached to it, now.
I think Marsha is going to be a great asset during these hearings. I hope she gets a chance to embarrass Kamala Harris and her petty comrades on the extreme left, though I suspect ACB will get that honor. You really can’t get more different than Harris and Barrett. Polar opposites in every way.
Filling three open seats on the Judiciary Committee, the Republicans knew they needed women, after having to bring in a female lawyer to question the fake victim Blasey Ford. It was bad optics. So, the R’s put two women and Josh Hawley in the seats. Blackburn seems pretty solid. Joni Ernst on the other hand, might be the weakest Senator of the 12 Republicans on the committee. She’s still nowhere near as bad as Flake was, and she is in a pretty close reelection race, so she will need to be pretty solid here when she is in the spotlight. Pulling a Flake would certainly cost her her job. Overall, we have a larger majority on the committee, no Jeff Flake, and Lindsey Graham instead of Grassley as Chairman. That’s a pretty good start.

Good points. Another thing we can thank President Trump for is that Conservative women now feel they have more of a VOICE to tout Conservative principles and a decent, Christian way of life.
I wouldn’t be surprised if we see more Conservative women winning seats up and down the spectrum in the next four years and beyond.
I am SO hoping our previous Lt. Governor (under Scott Walker) Rebecca Kleefisch, will run against Evers for Governor in 2022. She’s smart, pretty, accomplished, has a great family life, cancer survivor, and just an all-around pleasant person. She could mop the floor with Evers. There are ‘rumblings’ in my circles that she’s thinking of running, and whenever she posts on FB, one or all of us will say something to the effect of ‘as our NEXT Governor says...’
I’m hopeful for a lot of things that will slow down our march to Communism. I’m glad I’ll be dead before the Socialist Democrats drag us over THAT particular Finish Line. And it WILL be a ‘finish line.’ :(
