A quorum is a rule of the Senate and it can be vacated by a simple majority vote. Also my understanding is McConnell can stop this process and call a floor vote up or down for Barrett any time he pleases.
Indeed he always does, I had at one time considered him a shew in for Presidential candidate but his #NeverTrump stance gilded his lilly. He has worked tirelessly to open up immigration for H1B and Green card for illegals.
