Pop icon Stevie Wonder, whose estimated net worth exceeds $100 million, called for reparations for black Americans while performing at a Joe Biden rally in Detroit on Saturday.
Stevie Wonder was a guest performer at the drive-in Biden rally on Belle Isle. The 70-year-old singer — who was born in Saginaw, Michigan, and grew up in Detroit — is the latest celebrity to help the Biden-Harris ticket’s effort to flip Michigan blue.
At one point during the rally, the singer voiced his demand for reparations. “I know Joe Biden will do it. Give us reparations! For the work that we’ve all done for the last 400 years — unpaid,” the pop star said.

Stevie Wonder earned his money. He has talent and he has worked for it, and he overcame a disability to boot.
Everyone can do something to earn his keep . How about we reform education so that it educates? How about we build a robust economy that gives more people an opportunity to participate and thrive? How about blacks reform their culture so that more people value education and work and stability in their personal and family lives? Biden might give away someone else’s money but he won’t create any of the needed long-term solutions that benefit everyone.
The gimme culture is a dead end. Once reparations are p*ssed away, then what?
