I’m old enough to remember the Rudy wars around here, he wasn’t conservative enough, blah, blah, blah.

I think the reason was that Rudy was not pure on the right to life issue. He failed the litmus test on one issue.

Rudy’s big flaw in my book was his NYC attitude to the 2nd amendment. He had way too many caveats to our constitutional rights.

I loved Rudy though as mayor of NYC. You could walk the streets back then.

Yes I do remember that too. He was “socially liberal”, when the party was known more for social conservatism instead of economic nationalism.
