We already pay reparations in many ways.

Like EBT cards.

Forget all the crap of who should pay what and when. Easy solution: and it pay for itself. Give every Black American over the age of 18 $1million dollars. Shut down every welfare program known to mankind. That's billions right there. No person who received the million can ever get any gov. assistance again. Most of the millions will come right back into our economy. JUST do it and get it off our back. It will be over and done with. It will stop dragging our country down every generation......

Somehow, I cannot see Democrat hispanics who make up a majority of these cities cottoning to the idea of turning their money over to the black population so Dem politicians can pander for votes. Sorry, as much as the identity politics politicians want it to be so, there is no affinity between hispanics and blacks. Their interests and what they want from the gubmint are different and sometimes in conflict

Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti, whose city is suffering from homelessness

Correction. Suffering from government sponsored vagrancy, criminality, and addiction.

economic disruption

Correction. Government sponsored lockdowns, prohibitions against earning a living, and excessive overreach of pandemic response.

drought

Correction. Government refusal to build water storage facilities or desalination plants despite decades of population growth.

Even the most obtuse can see the root cause of California's destruction.

Perhaps the Commission could start by identifying all the areas in Africa and any other country where people were sold into slavery. Those countries should then pay reparations for what their ancestors did. If they do not then the US could end diplomatic relations with them and cut off all economic aid.

Geez... they already get free stuff when they are burning and looting and destroying the people’s lives who worked to start a business.
