Doesn’t Heels up Harris get to break the tie?

No, 60 votes needed to overcome a filibuster (by the GOP on this). Why do you think they want to get rid of the filibuster?

You'll be hearing more in the days to come now.

Nope. Not dead. Perhaps wounded but the Democrats have been wanting to Federalize elections for a long time. Watch carefully what the usual suspects (Romney and the others) do about the Dems trying to change the rules on the Filibuster.

Ironic thing is the current method of the Filibuster was enacted by the Democrats in the first place.

They have a history of changing the rules to suit their purpose, dump the rules when it does the same, and then change them back when they desire.

The GOP is forever and a day being out played by them.

I see...and I can’t argue with your comments. Dems play to win no matter the trail of distruction they leave in their path. As for rules if they don’t change them they simply ignore them and continue on....relentlessly... for they have no concern for consequences.

I also believe so many Dems are so old they have nothing to lose so they’ll play it hard until their dead in the water.

They don’t have the votes to remove the filibuster since a number of Democrats oppose doing so.

It is dead as long as the filibuster exists.

Federal takeover of elections is unconstitutional

Article I, Section 4 grants Congress broad powers in regulating federal Rep and Sen elections. But Article I, Section 7 appears to grant States exclusive authority to regulate the choosing of presidential electors.

As a practical matter States might go with a single set of regs rather than two or more.

“But Article I, Section 7 appears to grant States exclusive authority to regulate the choosing of presidential electors.”

That is the rub. The states could make an end run around any law passed by Congress and merely appoint the electors, like they did in the beginning.
