Senate Republicans torpedoed the "For the People Act," a federal takeover of elections, on Tuesday night. The legislation received 50 affirmative votes along party lines, with no Republican support. Democrats were unable to overcome the GOP filibuster to move forward with the legislation.

The "strategery" has been to sacrifice this bill as justification for eliminating the filibuster, and by going full retard woke.
I expect they will pour it on and try to ruin this 4th of July.

Must have occurred to them that if the law was passed there would be no more Republicans in Congress.
Dems are moderating with an eye toward the midterms. Little to none of the radical agenda is going to get done. No court packing. No DC statehood, etc. They’ll continue using the administrative state and executive orders to appease their base.

They’ll try to get the filibuster overturned and then take a bill like this up again. They got abt a year and a half to do it.

A Federal takeover of elections is unconstitutional from start to finish. Wonder why no one has contested it on those grounds. The Constitution has to be changed first.

That’s ADORABLE Civics 101 and while you may be right, it would help you and the many others here to understand that Democrats AND THEIR JUDGES simply don’t give a shit about the Constitution when it gets in their way of imposing their dictatorship on this country. The ONLY use they even have for the Constitution is to use it DESTROY conservatives who might get in their way, such as saying that ‘free speech’ is their ‘Constitutional Right’ even when the speech is calling for violent overthrow of our government.
The bottom line is that if the Democrats ever get the VOTES they need in Congress, and control the White House, THEY WILL get what they want, and no damn piece of paper will stop them. We need to ACCEPT that fact, and stop wasting our time even referring to the Constitution. For our side, it means everything, for them, it’s a JOKE.
...so if people here really want to stop them, then SUCK IT UP and vote Republican in November elections and remember that even the WORST RINOS, including Murkowski, Romney, and Collins are against the destruction of our our electoral system (as they showed today)...while Manchin and EVERY other Democrat is on THEIR SIDE.
I agree, the left will never give up. At least we’re done with this for now. But I also agree with others, it’s way past time to vote out the RINOs and get true conservatives into the Senate in their places.
