Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced his resignation on Tuesday under threat of impeachment, following the release of a scathing state Attorney General report in which investigators concluded that he sexually harassed several women in violation of state and federal law.
“I think that given the circumstances, the best way I can help now is if I step aside,” Cuomo said from his Manhattan office.
After disputing the report’s findings and apologizing for some behavior he insisted didn’t amount to sexual harassment, Cuomo said the wasted time and money from the impeachment process would hurt New Yorkers during a time of crisis.
Cuomo’s resignation will be effective in 14 days, the governor said.
Under state law, Lt. Gov. Kathy Hochul will assume the role of governor, becoming the first woman to lead the Empire State.

Cuomo is being ousted for the wrong thing. Is repeated sexual arassment really worse than killing thousands of people?
Probably a good move on his part. The world will be going to hell shorty. Time to get out of Dodge!
Love it Love it Love it when Democrats turn on each other.

Has CNN offered him a job yet.
.or is it a little to soon?
What a dope. They should impeach him tomorrow. They won’t have to try him as he would have to step aside immediately.
He will have more quality time to spend polishing his Emmy with his Brother before he becomes a CNN Contributor.
Now arrest him for murdering seniors in assisted living homes.
It reminds me of an old joke:
A new executive is hired to take over a struggling business unit. During the handover meeting, the previous executive gives the newbie three numbered envelopes with the recommendation to open them when things go poorly.
After two quarters, profits don’t improve and the new executive starts to feel significant pressure from his boss. Remembering the three envelopes, he opens the first one and reads the message, “Blame your predecessor.” He dutifully explains to his boss the previous executive had left a bigger mess than expected and it will take a bit longer to fix things – but everything is under control. Satisfied with the explanation, the boss turns her attention elsewhere.
A few quarters later the business unit is still missing its financial projections. Having learned from the previous experience, the executive consults the second envelope which contains the message “Reorganize.” The executive makes a number of ‘critically-needed changes’ and ‘doubles efforts on core strengths.’ Financial results seemingly improve.
Less than two years after taking over the business unit, the executive finds himself in another crisis. Out of ideas, the executive goes to his office, closes the door, and opens the third envelope.
The message says “Prepare Three Envelopes.”
We just need 15 days of masks and isolation to slow the spread!

I work for NY State. 14 days is the standard “lag time” to process such actions. It sucks, but that’s what it is.
I’m surprised he resigned. I figured he’d pull a Ralph Northam and wait for the storm to pass. If he had, you know all of the Dems who turned against him in the past week would be back kissing his butt.
Ten bucks says that there won’t be a single indictment for groping...or for killing thousands of old folks (and then obstructing a Federal investigation).
now prosecute the puke for murdering several thousands of old people
In two weeks, which gives him time to change his mind and decide to stay. Didn’t Northam do that?
he needs time to burn documents...
