Merck said Monday it is seeking US Food and Drug Administration emergency use authorization for its experimental antiviral Covid-19 treatment, molnupiravir.
If authorization is granted, the drug, made by Merck and Ridgeback Biotherapeutics, would be the first oral antiviral treatment to fight Covid-19. It comes in capsule form.
Merck said it is asking for authorization for the capsules to treat infected adults who are at risk of progressing to severe Covid-19 disease or hospitalization. Its submission is based on a study that was stopped at the interim point because the drug was working so well in more than 700 patients randomly assigned to take either molnupiravir or a placebo.
"At the interim analysis, molnupiravir reduced the risk of hospitalization or death by approximately 50%; 7.3% of patients who received molnupiravir were either hospitalized or died through Day 29 following randomization, compared with 14.1% of placebo-treated patients," the company said in a statement.
"Through Day 29, no deaths were reported in patients who received molnupiravir, as compared to eight deaths in patients who received placebo." None of the volunteers in the trial had been vaccinated.

Thanks for responding. No, I did not see the sarcasm disclaimer. I so wanted what you wrote to be true that I stopped there. We also use the FLCCC protocol with the addition of a few other supplements. No Ivermectin yet.
What say we have a trial between Ivermectin and molnupiravir?

You should follow sarcastic humor with a /s ... How many times in the past year has NEJM retracted a study they published about CoVID in the past 2 years? And doesn't that include the bogus HCQ study of outrageous dosages, compared to field results of positive outcomes?

I appreciate most of your comments on this site, but have to admit my distrust in doctors started, oh, about 1978...long story..and has gotten worse over the years..(misdiagnoses and drug pushing). This covid fiasco has made it even worse. The fact that the shots are being pushed on those who’ve had covid, (my 27 yr old grandson) and now planned down into the children’s age group (my great granddaughters) has me livid and not trusting much in the medical community. So forgive me, if I consider alternatives as an option.

As to Allen West, do you know what dosage that he took? Did he follow the i-mask protocol which is not just IVM?
Friend of mine is treating cv19 patients for free. Early treatment using IVM and i-mask gets ppl on the road to recovery within a couple hours. Meanwhile down at GAS_DR General Hospital, the ventilators, remdesivir and general maltreatment are doing their job in killing at least 90% of the serious cv19 cases.
