The British Navy and a burst or two to the raft would solve this in as long as it would take them to pick them out of the water and bring them back to the French shoreline.

I think that’s just one aspect of globalization. That and, all cultures are the same, we can’t judge other people, etc.
However, I sense the pendulum, if it isn’t heading back yet, by 2022 it will be swinging back. We’ll know it reached the other side when they start summarily executing criminals who have snuck back into the Unites States, the UK and other places. (I doubt I will live to see it, but I expect that response in the next fifty years.)

The latest “Time Machine” show people 10,000 from now all a light chocolate brown with dark features. No whites or blondes. It’s a fictional movie of course but they know what people will look like in future years.
Whites were 35% of the worlds population in 1945, not we are 7-8% and dropping.Africa is going to triple their population by 2100. They will all migrate to Western Europe and Europe will be a stinking hellhole.

Why would immigrants risk life and limb to cross the English Channel in November when they already have two feet on dry ground in northern France?
Those boats probably cost several hundreds of thousands. They are used once and discarded. Where are they built and who funds them?
The French police have no requirement to protect the English border.
That’s on the English.
As far as foreigners jumping into a boat and setting out into the ocean, the Gendarmes probably are happy to see them leave. Someone else’s problem now.
I have seen the French border police in action. When they want to, they are quite effective.
UK border police, same story.
Which means that if they get into the UK, it’s because they are being let in.
