Dear Conservatives, Elon Musk is Not Your Friend: He is a climate change radical who partners with the government at every turn to enrich himself
American Thinker ^ | 12/28/2021 | Bode Lang

Conservatives have enjoyed Elon Musk's behavior in recent weeks, blasting Elizabeth Warren, opposing lockdowns, and insulting CNN, but the giddiness spewing from conservatives about Musk is foolish.

To those embracing Elon Musk's political conversion, remember that Musk has been one of the most prominent advocates of the continuous scam known as climate change.  Like Bill Gates and Al Gore, Musk is an extremely wealthy man who fattens his own pockets through propagating climate change.  And like those other rich guys, Musk doesn't refrain from using private jets to fly around the world to save it.

In 2018, Elon Musk reportedly donated $6 Million to the Sierra Club while writing, "Thank you for fighting climate change. This affects every living creature on earth."  Once merely an environmental advocacy group, the Sierra Club has since evolved to promote other left-wing issues from pushing for mass immigration and abortion

Musk also has no reservations about whispering sweet-nothings to communists by praising China as "more responsible" than the U.S. and said that Chinese government officials could "possibly" be "more responsible" for their citizen's happiness than America is.

In May, Musk tweeted a call for a Carbon Tax and spoke with the Biden administration about implementing it.  Musk demanding the government to take money from taxpayers should come as no surprise because Musk's companies received at least $4.9 billion in government subsidies – as of 2015!  Therein lies perhaps Musk's most incredible skill: enriching himself with the government's help.

While government subsidies are not exclusive to one industry, what sets Elon Musk apart is not only his ability to exploit taxpayers but to use government guns to extort his competitors through "regulatory credits."

Looks fake.

It is only a couple sciency jargon steps away from a PowerPoint that says:

Water for Fuel => ? => Profit!

I’m just saying I wouldn’t assume his “environmentalist” stance is an uncynical one, since it obviously is linked very closely to his own financial well-being.

Not every one who advocates about “climate change” actually believes the hysteria. Some of them simply want to pump up their carbon credit companies, or solar panel companies, or electric car companies.

Musk is aware of what is emerging in the market and capitalizing on it, as any good business man does. It amazes me how many here believe themselves to be smarter and yet have no idea outside their ideological box, what is actually transpiring. Not a fanboy but you would do well to pay attention. He has his finger on the pulse. He is telling you what is coming. Ignore at your own peril.

I used to work for GA Power. Just getting another unit added to plant Vogel took about 15 years from the time they started planning it until it came online. And that was just adding a unit to an existing plant. No site acquisition costs and legal stuff with the site.

We must be looking at different data. I read that without subsidies 2Q2021 would have been the first profitable quarter for Tesla.

My point is the same as the main article - 1. that government subsidies ie. our money prop up a large portion of Musk’s empire. Let the undistorted marketplace determine the price and demand. And 2. We do not have the capacity to switch from fossil fuel in the car to fossil fuel in the power plant for any substantial fraction of our country’s transportation needs.

When 90% of the population of Vegas uses lake Meade water to water lawns in the desert I’m not surprised.

Musk is better than Steve Jobs by a long shot....

1.. that government subsidies ie. our money prop up a large portion of Musk's empire.

They don't. Not for Tesla. Not for SpaceX. SpaceX has saved the NASA/The federal government a lot of money.

Let the undistorted marketplace determine the price and demand.

Which is exactly what is happening right now.
Tesla hasn't received any govt EV subsidies on their cars for over 2 years, yet they totally dominate the EV sales in America. And at a very nice profit.

And 2. We do not have the capacity to switch from fossil fuel in the car to fossil fuel in the power plant for any substantial fraction of our country's transportation needs.

True.
But then it's going to take quite a fair bit of time to switch most cars to EV.
Even in Norway where 80% of cars sold are EV'S today, by far most cars on the road right now are still fossil fuel cars. Takes a long time for it to work its way through.

re: “Looks fake.”

According to you. I don’t know you, or your work. I do know the work Dr. Mills has done. I know the work others have done to verify the results.

Mills has been promising huge results for a very, very long time, from "Black Light Power" in the old days to "Brilliant Light Power" today (far longer than Andrea Rossi and his take on "Cold Fusion"). For the world's sake, I hope BOTH of them turn out to work...but right now, proof is lacking.

re: “Mills has been promising huge results for”

Another one who has not been paying attention.

Since 2016 when he dumped other means of enabling his trademark Hydrino ‘reaction’, he has ramped up the new technique to do 250 kW (that’s 250,000 WATTS) thermal ... has ANYONE one else including the BILLION dollar plus funded govt labs done that?

No.

So, I don’t wanna hear from the peanut gallery ...

Its idiots like yourself that makes progress in the real world a slugfest for those who have found a crack in the edifice of so-called “established science” and their rules accordinging to QM (Quantum Mechanics); morons aplenty asserting their Dunning-Krugerness.

YOU WOULD THINK persons like yourself would have LEARNED something from this Covid-19 debacle - the so-called established “science” experts are nothing of the kind!!

What? YOU BELIEVE FAUCI?

Technology experts who are agnostic as to global warming point out that for purely economic and technical reasons we have long been reducing the carbon in energy production. And there is a fair chance that within a decade, hot and cold fusion will both become commercially viable and begin to generate electricity for market. And there is also the potential for making alcohol fuels from entirely renewable sources.

re: “And you’re just as big an asshole there as you are here...”

You are truly turning out to be a moron. I post very little on any forum on this subject, and usually to correct ‘incorrect’ facts as stated by others. That you misconstrue to this degree must involve a large amount of projection on your part. Did you invest heavily in scheme where YOU were taken to the cleaners on account of your naivety on a subject? Gotta be ...

If only he had banned bumpstocks, imposed travel restrictions, lockdowns, masking and write in ballots for our good, then we could’ve loved him. Called him greater than Reagan.
