How to hold unvaccinated Americans accountable
The Hill ^ | 01/09/22 | GLENN C. ALTSCHULER

s the omicron variant of the novel coronavirus spreads across the United States, roughly 15 percent of adults remain unvaccinated. At the greatest risk for severe illness and death, they have already overwhelmed hospitals and intensive care units in many areas of the country, reducing services available to people who have non-COVID-19 related medical issues.

I just cannot get what the end game is for you spreading your lies. Look at any chart of who is in the hospital today dying from Covid. It’s the unvaccinated by a staggering margin. So what is your goal?

A. You are a leftist, and want as many conservatives as possible to die?

B. You want the pandemic to go on as long as possible because you think politically it helps republicans to hammer home Biden’s incompetence?

C. You are literally so stupid that you believe the nonsense being spread by paranoiac martian-believers?

Isn’t “respiratory failure” an immediate end-stage result of some catastrophe? Never heard someone living with a condition called “respiratory failure”.

Anyway, I’m here to say, my MIL did die from COVID. It wasn’t simply that she was very obese, or had pre-diabetes, or an undiagnosed coughing problem, or (unknown to us) high BP. Yes, she had all these, but they just made it riskier for her. She DID die from COVID, no matter the fact she had all these factors.

I guess the key question (as has been coming up FINALLY these last weeks) is: WHY DID THEY GO TO THE HOSPITAL?

Sorry to hear of your predicament! God bless.

However, consider also how many “medical experts” have QUIT or been FIRED for refusing the vax. “Staffing problems” - from policies about firing, and also such as forced quarantine, etc.

It’s not really the disease causing problems - it’s the hysteria over it.

Trust me, as a chronic sufferer trying to get help for unknown problems, having already had 3 cancers, I’ve seen how medical behaves because they’re so sure this is the Black Plague!

Last year this time I was kicked out of my oncology appt why? Because, OMG, I had COVID 3 weeks ago! On noes! I was so proud to tell them I had it and “survived” (98% of us do), but their policy (not told you before you drive there) was nobody who had COVID less than 6 weeks out could come in!

Then guess what? I was Dxed in April with breast cancer again (regular f/u scans - and breast specialist). Thanks, oncology!

This hysteria has pissed me off to no end!

Yesterday a woman called into the local sports radio station in Philly and wanted to complain about how the NHL was forcing the Philadelphia Flyers from playing games while half the team has COVID. She asked the host "I don't understand how they all have it, isn't it required to be vaccinated? Why didn't they get vaccinated then?"

Host responded that all but one player in the entire NHL has been vaccinated, but sometimes, rarely (!) people who have been vaccinated can still get it. Meanwhile the whole 100% vaccinated league has COVID. Dumb lady was shocked and quickly changed subject because I think smoke was leaking from her ears.

Oh, that is such an important point. You really scored with that semantic distinction that has zero to do with countering the objective fact that the people in hospital with Covid right now are the idiots who did not get said vaccination.

What’s next? A surcharge if you’re overweight? If you fail to take your cholesterol medicine? If you avoid flu shots?

The weaknesses of the Covid vaccines against transmission has been known for many months.

The Democrats running this country need to held accountable in November of 2022 and November of 2024.

Brought to you by the same people who promoted Obamacare whereby Americans pay more for insurance because of the need to support people who smoke, drink and eat themselves into oblivion.

"...eliminating paid time off when they are sick."

That's about the dumbest idea possible. People who would otherwise stay home will instead go to work and further spread the illness.

The fools promoting these ideas should take a look at the most recent data from the UK. Due to NHS their government tracks and publishes more data about who has COVID, what their vaccination status was, and other details. In reality right now vaccinated people in some age groups are more likely to have an active COVID-19 case than unvaccinated people. And that isn't numerically, it is in terms of cases per 100,000 of each sub-group.

The UK government scientists add a lot of footnotes to try to explain away what the actual data show, but the data shows that blaming the spread of COVID on the unvaccinated is unwarranted. You can read the report here. Take a look at Table 13.

Suggesting that people should be treated differently in terms of medical treatment based on their personal choices seems like a bad direction to go. Obesity causes many serious illnesses, and is implicated in higher risk for COVID. Would it really be a good idea to, for example, penalize the overweight and charge them more for insurance or blame them for crowded hospitals? I don't think so.

Obese people overwhelm hospitals.
So do smokers.
How about a tier of surcharges?

the fact that lack of vaccination allows the disease to spread more rapidly.

That may be a comforting way to blame some group of people for your justifiable stress and worry, but it isn't supported by actual data. Take a look at Table 13 in this report. Transmission results from cases, not hospitalizations, and for whatever reasons right now in the UK where they collect a lot of detailed data vaccinated people in some age groups are twice as likely to have a COVID case as unvaccinated people.

The people spreading COVID are the vaccinated people.
