WASHINGTON — In normal times, a politician could hardly do something less controversial than pose for a photo with kids. But these are not normal times.
Stacey Abrams, the Georgia Democrat making her second run for governor, faced intense blowback Monday after sharing — and then quickly deleting — a photo of her smiling unmasked face surrounded by masked elementary school children.
Abrams visited a Decatur elementary school to promote reading and Black History Month. But not since George W. Bush continued reading "The Pet Goat" to Florida students on Sept. 11, 2001, has such a benign event turned into such a political blunder.
Abrams, who supports school mask mandates, was immediately accused of hypocritically violating the school's mask policy and pilloried by Republican politicians and conservative media outlets.
Democrats say the controversy is much ado about nothing, noting that Abrams wore a mask to the school and removed it only for the photo and a speech.
But the photo touched a nerve, Republicans say, because it displays the out-of-touch piety that they say leads liberals to impose onerous societal norms without feeling obligated to always follow them themselves.

I think they spelled weighs-in incorrectly.
She said she unmasked so the students could hear her. Meanwhile my high schooler struggles to learn and speak Spanish when both she and her teacher are masked. And my freshman in college is learning electrical engineering from a heavily accented Indian teacher also wearing a mask.
Teachers and students can’t hear each other masked. Abrams makes the point. And kids have been masked in some states for 2 years now, 7 hours a day, not able to hear or be heard.

Drive through the small downtown. You’ll see plenty of black men and women coming out of the MARTA station, to and from work. But none of them live there, too expensive. Want to see what the place is really like? Go to the elementary, middle and high school, when they let out. Nothing but an army of young white liberals and ANTIFA/BLM wannabes. Lots of BLM flags hanging from flag poles attached to a $600,000 home.
A friend of mine lives there. He might be the only Conservative that lives in the city. He’s a real estate guy, got a deal and is going to make some serious bank when he sells. Anywho, one of his neighbors asked that he take down Old Glory, as the flag offends him.
But, they got money. And that’s what she needs. Soros can spend only so much, as she is real cozy with the son.

The city is 66% WHITE in a county that is 54% BLACK. County leadership is about 99% black.
