The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported last week that there were 3,613,647 births registered in the United States in 2020 and that 1,464,121 of theseā€”or 40.5 percent--were to unmarried mothers.

"The percentage of all births to unmarried women was 40.5% in 2020," said the CDC's "Births: Final Data for 2020" report.

The CDC also reported that 42.0% percent of births in the United States in 2020 were covered by government-funded Medicaid.

Among the 50 states, according to the report's Supplemental Table I-7, Mississippi had the highest percentage of babies born to unmarried mothers (55.8 percent).

All signs point to an interesting future.

Outlaw abortion and factor the unmurdered into the population projection and then revisit those numbers.

Smart lady. I remember once when Walter Cronkite was caught on-mike saying something about Slick Willie being Slick. I also remember seeing pictures of him and Slick and Hillary out on a sailboat buddy-buddy yukking it up somewhere out off the coast of Martha’s Vineyard.

Before I turned 18 (later got drafted) I remember Chet Huntley and David Brinkley, even Dan Rather and Cronkite et al on TV most nights. I remember their ‘reports’ about Viet Nam and doing their best to report the worst (my impression). AFAIC, they doomed the US participation and very likely were substantially responsible for a significant number of the lives of US Soldiers lost there.

“Johnson’s Great Society” What a joke that was. Just like Johnson himself.

How many of those women who had a baby in 2020 also had a man at home but weren't married?

How many faced with the option of getting married and paying all the bills or staying single and having the taxpayers foot the bill?

Our Founding Fathers adamantly opposed the income tax.

The insight my grandmother had was very subtle:

—Television was designed to influence opinion, which meant that anyone on it had an agenda (what we now call a “narrative”).
—That agenda was very consistent, and was designed to create an “Overton Window” of what was “respectable” thought.
—This was a form of intimidation to stop people from thinking for themselves.

The truth about events if often very complex and can be looked at from many different angles. TV was designed to stop you from being inquisitive, and to shut you up if you had an unconventional view about any topic.

Living in Mississippi I noticed a large percentage of unwed white mothers having mixed race babies. The Fathers were no where to be seen after the girl is impregnated. It is a game for them to knock up as many white girls as they can.

The BEST thing I ever did was stop watching Network and local affilate news a couple decades ago. They’re all leftist organisms, IMO.

80% of the boys will end up violent street thugs in gangs or on their own. They don’t stand a chance.

I have no clue how to fix this problem but the boys themselves are not initially to blame. They are being completely sabatoged from any chance of growing up morally straight law-abiding citizens. None whatsoever.

The government should stop subsidizing single parent families and subsidize two parent stable families so that children can be brought up in a loving stable environment where responsibility and discipline are taught. This would help solve the criminal issue too.

“The government should stop subsidizing single parent families...”

There is the problem. You nailed it. Stop the money and in forty years we will right ourselves.

What’s extremely interesting (and frustrating, quite frankly) is that the American citizens who are most financially and emotionally prepared to have and raise children - are the LEAST likely not to! There has been a dramatic rise in DINK couples over the years.

"It is a good thing to be a high functioner, but will also be exhausting dragging along those who were not taught how to be responsible adults"

If they succeed in "corporatizing the world" then the high functioners will get a fairly decent life until they become a liabiity.

If they don't succeed, then they'll have good hunting.
