Democrats in Congress have proposed a plan that would declare an unconditional "war" on "racism," and fund it with $70 billion for a new, Cabinet-level "Department of Reconciliation."

The National Pulse has posted online an image of the proposed resolution that is being supported by a couple dozen Democrats already.

A summary explains the plan is to be "declaring unconditional war on racism and invidious discrimination and providing for the establish of a Cabinet-level Department of Reconciliation charged with eliminating racism and invidious discrimination."

The plan likens itself to President Lyndon Johnson's "war on poverty," a move that over the decades has cost American taxpayers trillions of dollars, without remove poverty from the American landscape.

The United States abolished slavery in 1865. Not the first to do so. Great Britain did so in 1833. France in 1848. An institution that had existed from time immemorial, and the United States took an extra 32 years. For that 32 years, they must be forever punished.

And the U.S. was certainly not the last country to abolish it. Cuba, Brazil, Korea, Egypt... all after 1865. It still exists, of course, in some parts of the world, but only the U.S. is culpable. Not the European powers that set it up. Not the African and Arab traders that fueled it. Nope, just the U.S.

And if you want to get technical, parts of what is now the U.S., in New England were among the first places anywhere that banned slavery. Credit for that? Nope.

Look, of course the history of slavery is reprehensible. Do I wish that it had never existed here (or anywhere)? Of course. But in my view, America was on the forefront of it's abolition in the 19th century, if you take the long view of history. And, what about all of the efforts by the United States to fight for freedom throughout the world since the Civil War? No credit there either? This stuff just drives me nuts.

Departments of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion have resulted in 10-1 liberals v. conservatives on college campuses.

“...Auburn is as leftist as most Ivy League colleges...”

Yes, and so is Bama, Vanderbilt, Emory, Duke, Tulane, Ole Miss, etc. etc.

The majority of the students at Auburn, even the Yankee ones, are pretty conservative. But it is very rare for any to be activists or deeply in-touch with national politics.

Thought Crime.
Exactly. It is every human’s right to dislike anybody for any reason, no matter how stupid, including but not limited to race, color, creed, ethnicity, national origin, sex, sexual proclivities, education, intelligence and looks. As long as the person keeps his hands off the other’s person and property. That right can be expressed in whom he chooses to associate or trade.
Therefore, racism has NO place in any political discussion or policy.

The problem isn't racism, it's culturism.

from my home page
-___________________________________________________________________

Culturism.

The problem isn't racism. Race cannot be changed. The problem is Culture. Culture is the thing that can be changed. None of us, including obambam, and others can change the color of their skin but we can change our culture we choose to uphold. The key is to uphold positive aspects of our own and others' culture, and reduce the negative aspects.

Some cultures are superior to others. An example is San Diego vs. Tijuana. They're 5 miles apart, separated by a simple fence. On one side is a shiitehole and on the other is a pleasant enough place to live. Same climate, same location, the only difference is that fence that separates 2 distinct cultures -- one of which millions of people clamor to get into and the other of which people try to get out of.

Even obambam is culturist: "Parents have to... eradicate the slander that says a black youth with a book is acting white." ~Barack Obama , 2004 Democratic National Convention

Back when I was an older grad student in Tuscaloosa, circa 1994, the Crimson Tide History Department had only two conservative professors: the often-published Forrest McDonald and a specialist on antebellum “Free Men of Color” and Blacks who owned slaves — Gary Mills. Nowadays, I would wager few History Departments have any conservatives.

South Africa had a reconciliation commission too. Now whites face murder, property seizures and genocide. Whites have no say in government policies. This is the expressed goal of the commie squad.

The DOA will reduce the status of whites to that of Jews in Nazi Germany. The goal is make whites choose to either submit to slavery or face death death. Its good that the DOA is being proposed by the squad. Fox News will likely pick up this story.

Department of Restoration? The name is a lie. Democrats care only for a perpetual division they can exploit. How likely will it be for them to give up hating those they disagree with and falsely accuse them of racism? Fat chance. They might as well rip out their own hearts. Hate and division is what makes a leftist a leftist.

Just curious how much would it cost for 30 acres and a Lincoln Navigator instead.

South Africa had a gap between Mandela's release ('90) and the establishment of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission ('96), and debated long and hard if restorative or retributive 'justice' would be prosecuted.

Fortunately Nelson (and Tutu) did not want white bloodshed (black was ok), and instead of going forward with revenge, they prosecuted the absolute f-ck out of Winnie. A warning for any ratchet even thinking of backing this Marxist egg-sucking nonsense.

of course they are talking about mostly imagined white racism.

The virulent, violent, black racism and race hatred against whites as manifested in epic violent interracial crime which is is epidemic compared to the reverse will be ignored. .
