Self-anointed "fact-checkers” in the U.S. corporate press have spent two weeks mocking as disinformation and a false conspiracy theory the claim that Ukraine has biological weapons labs, either alone or with U.S. support. They never presented any evidence for their ruling — how could they possibly know? and how could they prove the negative? — but nonetheless they invoked their characteristically authoritative, above-it-all tone of self-assurance and self-arrogated right to decree the truth, definitively labelling such claims false.
Claims that Ukraine currently maintains dangerous biological weapons labs came from Russia as well as China. The Chinese Foreign Ministry this month claimed: "The US has 336 labs in 30 countries under its control, including 26 in Ukraine alone.” The Russian Foreign Ministry asserted that “Russia obtained documents proving that Ukrainian biological laboratories located near Russian borders worked on development of components of biological weapons.” Such assertions deserve the same level of skepticism as U.S. denials: namely, none of it should be believed to be true or false absent evidence. Yet U.S. fact-checkers dutifully and reflexively sided with the U.S. Government to declare such claims "disinformation” and to mock them as QAnon conspiracy theories.

Remember when Obama told Medvedev he could do more in his second term? (for Russia, in context) ... maybe this was it, look the other way in 2014 over Crimea, look the other way in 2022 (his third term) when Russia knocked on the doors of the labs, mission accomplished, gain of function.
Just sayin, we only think this administration is opposed to Russia because they keep invoking the Trump-Putin connection they invented. Who can really say they are opposed? Maybe they were playing both sides, making money at both ends.
The time has come, certainly, for the Senate to start asking more searching questions and every leading Democrat past or present should be grilled about all these matters. I don’t know what other western leaders may have been play acting all along on these issues, could be some, could be all. That’s the problem of their own political processes. I wouldn’t trust Trudeau or Freeland on such things, it’s easy enough to say “Ukraine, democracy, freedom” in a sentence but we saw in Ottawa with the truck convoy how weak the commitment was to democracy and freedom. Why should the Ukraine be any different?
Back in the day, all these politicians aligned with Moscow. Vlad hasn’t changed that much. He’s still good buddy with Havana. I always thought Biden (meaning Obama) and Trudeau would also be buddy with Havana ... and Caracas ... and Hanoi etc etc. Globalism after all is just communism with billionaires instead of university professors.

I doubt they care what the truth is, and probably don’t even know what the truth is. It’s all just spin and perception, that’s all they care about.

The ONLY reason for the US to have labs in any other country is if they are conducting research/experiments prevented by US law.

I don’t expect this statement to actually register with most of the people who respond to this thread.
Most of those questions (the ones that are actually valid anyway) could be answered if you had the curiousity and work ethic to perform a few minutes research on the internet.
Here’s a clue, just try searching “Ukraine Anti-Plague System” for a start.

We are sick of being lied to, sick of our gov being corrupt. We don’t believe anything they say. No faith. No confidence. They did it to themselves.
The only documentation you are going to find, besides perhaps evidence of the Soviet-era biological agents that Ukraine may have had access to (and even that they were very tight-lipped about), is going to be documentation of what is called “dual use” research... meaning research on agents that have civilian applications but also potential military applications.
That’s the type of research that the coronavirus research at Wuhan should have fallen under, except that Peter Dasczak at EcoHealth studiously avoided admitting it was under that classification, in order to avoid having to meet the stricter regulations that come with it.
Anything beyond that is strictly verboten by international treaties that we are a party too. We are certainly violating those treaties, but we are not stupid enough to document that we are violating them.

You realize Ukraine was part of the Soviet Union, and the Soviet Union had the 2nd most advanced biological warfare program in the world, besides the United States, right?
