Fire department officials in Washington Township — where former President Donald Trump will speak to supporters Saturday night — are scrambling to ensure the safety of the event that could potentially draw thousands.
"I do not want to allow it," said Rob Schmelzer, the township’s assistant fire chief and fire marshal. "I have nothing against the past president. This has to do with the venue."

We once sponsored a convention and spent thousands on a setup, stupid POS fire marshall tried to shut us down because our canopy (legal in FL) didn’t have some BS California fire rating. He thought he was smart...or something

He got zero help from any organizers or authorities, so the little thug backed down when he realized he be buried where he stood before my display was coming down.

The fire chief (unionized) doth protest too much.
The venue holds what the venue holds and in this case it’s around 6,000, just like the last time P. Trump held a rally here.
Of note: there were another 30,000 attendees outside the venue in the planned for, overflow area.
This kind of overwhelming response by Trump supporters knowing damn well they were not going to get into the main arena was typical of his rallies and was how “our side” chose to peacefully demonstrate our zealous support for P. Trump.

But the media always tells us that Trump rallies draw a few hundred supporters.
any opportunity for any municipal official to say anything about having a (god forbid) Trump rally, and they will.
this “fire marshal” has had 2 years to gauge how many Trump voters will be in attendance, and make decisions adequate for those attending. obviously, he has not.
If the facility isn’t safe for the specified occupancy, someone’s head ought to be on the chopping block. Who would that be? The Fire Marshall?
