CHICAGO -- At least 51 people have been shot, three fatally, in shootings across Chicago so far this weekend, police said.
A group of people were changing a tire on the street in Homan Square's 3300 block of West Harrison Street at about 3:19 a.m. Sunday when a dark SUV approached, police said. An unknown man got out of the vehicle and fired multiple shots at the victims before fleeing northbound on Homan Avenue. A 30-year-old man was shot in the face and was pronounced dead on the scene. Two other victims, one who sustained seven gunshot wounds to the body and another who sustained multiple gunshot wounds to the legs, arms and body, were transported by the Chicago Fire Department to Mt Sinai hospital in critical condition. No one is in custody and Area Four detectives are investigating.
Minutes later, two people were shot, one fatally, in Back of the Yards, police said. A 37-year-old man tried to intervene in an argument inside a residence in the 5400 block of South Winchester Avenue between a male offender and a 25-year-old woman at about 3:30 a.m. The offender produced a firearm and began firing shots in the direction of the victims. The male victim was shot in the head and was pronounced dead on the scene. The woman was shot in the right armpit and was transported to the University of Chicago Medical Center in stable condition. No one is in custody and Area One Detectives are investigating.

That’s the accuracy you get when you hold your handgun sideways and over your head...
3:19 AM
Lol, yeh! Thankfully their aim sucks.
Only one of the shootings was not between 9 pm and 6 am. It was at 8:30 pm.
Serious question: How in God’s flat green earth do 51 people get shot and only three die? That’s some terrible shooting.
Only 3 dead among 51 shot? The homeboys need to work on that ghetto grip.
Don’t ask. They’ll want a study done to figure out how to make guns safer.
9mm is the preferred round of most semi-auto shooters. It’s obvious they aren’t using hollow point. The deaths ratio is far too low. Anything under .40 cal with the exception of a .357, is useless for any stopping power. That’s why glocks have models with 19 rounds. It’s specifically sold to police departments in urban environments. Low penetration power of the 9mm is preferred for cities.
You can also get 30 round magazines for these guns, but they cause jamming. My preference is the .357 magnum wit hollow points. One shot and done.
The city of chicago is cleansing itself. Pretty soon it will be down to a smaller city.
Wasting ammo.
Looks like one peep made his own weapon. “...offender produced a.....”
Sounds like they need more gun control..
Damn city slickers wasting ammunition again. Someday, Americans are going to need that ammo to shoot their way out of the slavery of communism.
Batting .059.
Chicago ERs have gotten very good over the years.
Chicago could cut down on these weekend shootings if they would make it a crime to discharge a weapon within the city limits and build a few more shooting ranges outside of town.
Our President told me that a 9 mm would blow a man’s lungs out of his body. I assume this is fatal in at least some instances.
Therefore, based on the testimony of our President, we can eliminate 9 mm as a caliber of choice.
I wonder how much each victim costs us in medical bills, I doubt that these fellows carry sufficient insurance to cover the cost of having a lung reinstalled.
July to Date Shot & Killed: 49 Shot & Wounded: 260 Total Shot: 309 Total Homicides: 51
The same idiot you're quoting above believes in global warming, shutting down American oil & gas production, then begging the Saudi's for more.
Never EVER quote Dementia Joe again without a sarcasm tag, lest people think you're serious.
