Ukrainian drone hits bomber base inside Russia
Reuters ^ | December 26, 2022 | Pavel Polityuk

A drone believed to be Ukrainian penetrated hundreds of kilometers through Russian airspace, causing a deadly explosion at the main base for Moscow's strategic bombers in the latest attack to expose gaps in its air defences.

Moscow said it had shot the drone down causing it to crash at the Engels air base, where three service members were killed. Under its usual policy on incidents inside Russia, Ukraine did not comment.

The base, the main airfield for the bombers that Kyiv says Moscow has used in recent months to attack Ukrainian civilian infrastructure, is hundreds of miles from the Ukrainian frontier. The same planes are also designed to launch nuclear-capable missiles as part of Russia's long-term strategic deterrent.

“If you want Armageddon then keep poking the bear, you will get it.”

Who is poking whom ??
To my knowledge Russia is poking at Ukraine with and average of 50.000 bombs and shells raining down on Ukraine every single day on average. There are half a million Russian troops invading Ukraine right now.
Russia has leveled so many towns and villages in Ukraine already, massive devastation.
Russia is destroying all electrical civilian infrastructure in Ukraine with waves of missiles. Every week.

Now, when Ukraine send ONE drone onto a Russian MILITARY target in Russia you call that “poking the bear”? What do you mean by that? That Ukraine should just do nothing against Russia in response to its ultra massive aggression and devastation of Ukraine ? Just letting Russian missiles and bombs rain down on Ukraine while just taking a nap? Maybe Ukraine should send flowers to Moscow instead, that way the bear would not be poked... ?

Is it bad that Ukraine has the will to defend its borders, families and country ?
Ukraine does what America would do in case it was attacked and devastated by foreign military forces.

I am not aware of ANY defense against drones except for a canceling radio wave that disables everything within its range...you end up hurting some of your own equipment as well...like a mosquito flying through a chain link fence...

You don’t know the actual history of this conflict.

You know the MSM version of the history...

It is a US Deep State/Totalitarian Globalist Depopulationist Psychopath vs Sovereign Nation-State war.

I use different words for the same meaning.

What ever the history can be. One thing is certain, Ukraines borders are recognized internationally - Ukraine is a souverain country. And its being devastated now for 10 months buy Russia military.

If we have to dig up history... Should Texas be given back to Mexico ??

Or should America be given back to the United Kingdom ?

The only reason I support Ukraine is something called Holodomor. I don’t want the world
to allow another one like we did the last
time around.
That being said, none of our military should be committed to fight there.
Realistically all the monies being thrown at Ukraine are providing good paying American jobs and testing our “stuff” and production capabilities vs. a “peer” enemy.

Small and relatively cheap military drones are the hi-tech assistants for spys, saboteurs, spotters and snipers

The drones are their avatars, they fearlessly rush in where angels fear to tread.

Crimea and other territories were Russian for centuries until some stupid commie signed some papers and said they were now in Ukraine.. isn't Russia giving back Crimea like giving back Texas? if some commie took power in the US and said Texas is once again part of Mexico would you recognize that after the commie was removed from power?

Probably just a lie to begin with from the Russian government. Saves face to pretend they shot it down at the last minute but that it just crashed somewhere unavoidably, killing 4 service men.

If you want Armageddon then keep poking the bear, you will get it.

We've been told that for awhile now. At this point we have already crossed all the "red lines" that warranted attacks on NATO soil up to and including nuclear attacks.

None have come, and Putin--after all his threats--has since said that nukes will never be used unless their enemy uses nuclear missiles first.

The way you keep referring to “the bear”, I wonder if you even know what you are talking about. I’ve never heard the US referred to as “The Eagle” more than a few times. Not continuously.

Must you people spam each thread with your Russian talking points? You would think you’d feel you made your point 1000+ threads ago, repeating the same stuff.

“defeat NATO with conventional weapons.”

That is not true. Russia, historically can defend itself upon its own territory but, they can not fight and win a conventional war outside of its area of influence.

So that leaves the question..will the NATO countries risk a NON conventional war when Russia feels it is under grave threat. I feel that NATO will take that risk until...NATO dissolves.
The USA is NATO. Without our contributions, NATO ceases to exist. And right now, under this current administration and their ignorance, the march to complete unrestricted war is rapidly advancing.

The Russians would have been holed up in Siberia if the US wasn’t shipping arms and materials to them in ‘42/‘43. Their competence hasn’t gotten much better since.

For a nation blessed with resources and industrious people….their output is horrible. That’s what horrible leadership gets you.

Russian nuclear doctrine allows use of nuclear weapons if the survival of the state itself is in doubt.

In a US v Russia conventional confrontation the Russian forces would be crushed and that is definitely a threat to the survival of the state.

Hi JonPrestov,

You seem the be willing to give up right away against enemy forces.
You insinuate that any country in the world attacked by Russia must concede defeat immediately.

If you were American you wouldn’t sit by and sleep if your country was attacked by a military foreign power. Unless... you are a GPWFW (Green Peace white flag weaver).

You are the “I SURRENDER” kind go guy. Luckily you are not part of Americas defense forces... (and we know why... don’t we Mr. Prestov).
