Breaking update:
The latest reporting coming out of Billings, Montana are showing the previously reported and speculated alleged explosion in the sky to be a confirmed hoax, as no explosions have been reported in Billings. Initially, due to the Chinese spy balloon that was spotted in the skies of Montana earlier today, the reports were widely believed and panic grew as a result. However, the official word from local reporters in Montana is indicating that the alleged explosion did not occur.
As reported by Aaron Flint, host of Montana Talks statewide radio show, upon checking with Yellowstone City County dispatch, Flint is reporting that no explosions in the skies of Billings, Montana have been reported to them.

Confirming the hoax is the official Twitter account of Billings, Montana, @BillingsMT on Twitter, who reported saying:
We have confirmed with @MontanaDES & @GovGianforte that there have not been any explosions in, around, or across #Montana. They are aware of the video and it can not be substantiated.

Spotted over SC yesterday according to local news.
They now pretty much know we are a land with no borders and no national airspace that we will defend.

I absolutely don’t believe this was a hoax. The lady that posted it seemed completely legit. Her twitter has nothing to do with politics or conspiracy theories. She sells used clothes on Poshmark. She just happen to get a video of it from her window.
This stinks like another government coverup.

The not having a pilot/weather man in these press rooms is getting bad. You go to airshows, go watch aerial firefighting operations, weasel rides on anything that flys, you do the 101st airborn open houses for a reason as aviation nerd, you pay attention to the shapes of the NRO air assets so you can spot the normal from a odd sun angle.
You realize the best ballast in a airplane is water, the getting rid of it is an open valve and positive pressure on a vent line. No sling, just need to have baffles on tanks that can slosh.
The show from a single or pair of fighter drop tanks with 50 lbs of unrecoverable fuel in is about the same, if it happens to crack from load of tumbling.
It is like people have not seen gliders drop their water ballast before. Vertical clouds given the right sun angle, weather and water temperature. The show is even better when firefighting planes get cancelled, the jet ones drop at 20k as not to crush some poor farmers barn on final. Given a dry layer of air, nothing hits the ground. Not like western firefigters fly over moist air often.
