Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin (R) said on Tuesday that she thinks Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) should “stay governor” for the time being, as he continues to attract speculation about a potential 2024 presidential bid.
“DeSantis doesn’t need to [run],” Palin said in an interview with Newsmax. “I envision him as our president someday but not right now.
“He should stay governor for a bit longer,” she added. “He’s young, you know. He has decades ahead of him where he can be our president.”
Although DeSantis has yet to announce a 2024 presidential bid, he is widely viewed as former President Trump’s biggest competition for the Republican nomination.
A recent poll from Monmouth University showed Trump and DeSantis tied as the leading choice among Republican voters for their party’s nominee.
However, Palin appeared confident in Trump’s 2024 prospects on Tuesday.
“I’m all about healthy, competitive primaries,” Palin said. “That makes everybody debate more articulately and work harder and let the people know what [their] records are and visions for this country are. And so, I love healthy debate and competitive primaries.”
“But when you talk about the specific people, the individual people who are looking at putting their hat in the ring … they got a lot of guts thinking they’re gonna go up against Trump,” she continued.

DeSantis’ policies and actions in FL have been fine. They will be fine in 2028 for the USA.

She’s right DeSantis should run after Trump’s term is up DeSantis needs to learn the take on world leaders from Trump before getting into the arena.
The more ammo he has the better his chances of blocking a democrat.

If Sarah Palin had not anointed Trump as her preferred candidate prior to the Iowa primary, it is likely he would not have won.
Her opinion continues to be important today.
She is a true Republican populist and was the only real chance the Republicans had with McCain as the nominee in 2008.
She was recently cheated out of a congressional seat by ranked voting in Alaska where a majority of Alaskans wanted a Republican rep but they got a Democratic rep.
It’s funny how people cite DeSantis’ ‘lack of experience’, but didn’t seem to have that problem with Trump back in 2016.

LOL what are YOU talking about! George Soros doesn’t even live in the US, but he has an organization that works in many states, influencing election mechanics, not just the few swing states that Trump claims were stolen.
Mark Zuckerberg is known to have set up a political team in Georgia, and used his money and influence to adjust decisions around elections there. Those guys are just smarter than Trump? Or just more willing to work at something?
You can’t compare Palin’s Weak resume to Ron Desantis. He served several terms in Congress and is in his 2nd term as Governor.
