GOP presidential candidate says Tucker Carlson would be ‘good addition’ to 2024 field

Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy said in an interview that former Fox News host Tucker Carlson would make an “good addition” to the 2024 presidential race.

In an interview with Politico published Monday, Ramaswamy, who announced his candidacy for president earlier in February, said that he believes Carlson throwing his name in the GOP candidacy hat will be “good for the country.”

“I think he’d be a good addition to the race,” Ramaswamy said. “I think someone should only do this if they feel called to do it, but I think it’d be good for the country if he got in, to be honest with you.”

Ramaswamy, a conservative investor, also called Carlson “one of the smartest voices in the conservative movement,” also applauded the former Fox News host’s ability to “defect from party orthodoxy when necessary.”

“There’s definitely a thought leadership vacuum in political media, across the political spectrum. And Tucker was one of the great political thinkers and commentators of our time,” Ramaswamy told Politico.

I like Tucker's work as a journalist. The next president has to be a genius at reforming government or the whole nation will be lost. I only know one person for that job, and he too will fail if he doesn't have the most awesome team working for the same goal all the time.

I don’t know why people assume that anyone who excels at their current role should run for president. Tucker brought as much truth as he was allowed to bring, to his audience, with amazing wit, humor, and insight. He was obviously doing the job he was meant to do, and will hopefully be back soon, unleashed and full-throttle.

Totally agreement!

Tucker Carlson would make a great debate participant. What sort of executive management experience does Carlson have that would result in a POTUS which can turn the nation around?

I wonder if Tucker would consider the old Rush time slot. Seems like a great fit, IMO.

I like the 2 business people. Trump & Vivek. Career politicians are all controlled by their rich donor class.
Interests of donor class is shipping middle class jobs to cheaper labor countries.

Trump had a chance to reform government, but his ability to recruit and lead a team to do so was lacking. He had way too many people in his administration working against him.

Plus, since he would be limited to one term, Trump is a lame duck as soon as he is elected. He would have no clout with Congress, especially the Senate. Jockeying for 2028 would begin immediately.

Tucker has more common sense and MAGA attitude than Dubya+Obama+Biden combined.

Tucker Carlson is a gem among a bunch of misfits and morons in the media, but that’s not saying much — and I have seen nothing from him that tells me he’s even capable of holding a responsible executive position of any kind.

This Swamy dude completely discredits himself when he buys into a TV character as a political candidate.

For heaven’s sake — one of the conditions of Carlson’s employment at Fox News was that he wasn’t allowed to wear a BOWTIE anymore.

I can’t say why, exactly, but I never trusted that guy. And after he, “privately”, impugned Trump, I trust him even less!

Great idea,IMO, except that I heard the new cars are coming out without AM talk radio.
I’m hoping Tucker gets some kind of bundled contract, in which he’s available to the public thru multiple media, say, AM radio AND a youtube channel AND a TV slot.
Take that, Rupert Murdoch.
