The son of a senior Home Depot worker, who died after a serial shoplifter shoved him to the concrete floor, said his elderly dad was simply “going to ask for a receipt” when he was savagely attacked — as he calls for an urgent crackdown on rampant theft.
In the disturbing caught-on-camera assault, Gary Rasor, 83, was forcefully shoved to the ground after he approached a man wheeling out three pressure washers worth over $800 from the Hillsborough, North Carolina store on Oct. 18.
He died due to complications from his injuries on Dec. 1.
Rasor’s eldest child, Jeff Rasor, said his father was just doing his job and asking for proof of purchase when he was remorselessly attacked.
He is now calling for authorities to crack down on growing thievery across the nation.

Expecting the government to do anything about crime is a futile gesture. The only thing holding society together in many places is the right to keep and bear...
...I agree.....the moral fabric of our once-great country is unraveling at an astounding pace...just a decade or so ago, this sort of thing would have been almost unheard of, but today.....just like those two LuLuLemon workers who were fired because they followed a shoplifter out of their store to get his car license plate....very sad.....

Rasor said his father wouldn’t want “this guy to be in jail the rest of his life,” about Terry McAnthony McMillian, 26, who was charged with his dad’s murder in January, as well as robbery charges.
“He would rather that guy be graduating from law school and be on an internship right now somewhere,” Rasor said. “That’s what he’d want. But he’s not, he’s sitting in jail.”
3 pressure washers-— wheeled them out- did not CHECK them out. Where’s your receipt, and uh... the alarms on the doors went off. This son is correct to do this- and Home Depot should reward loyal employees.
Loss prevention insurance rates are going through the roof, and just like insurance a@@holes tell MD’s to just pay the lawsuit they’ll cover it— these jackasses say— let em walk. SOMEBODY is paying, and it is reflected in the prices the inflation and the sheer negligence to customers who DO pay. Perhaps an electronic device that shocks the thief on the way out— enough to make them pee, and also UV spray marking them. That would slow this up on major items.
Retail establishments simply use these thefts as a write off to balance their books.
And called to report them to the police.
Meanwhile hard work is punished while criminality and profiteering are being rewarded and encouraged.

And they will certainly use any lose to their advantage.
Part of the reason for stores not wanting employees to interfere with shoplifters is liability. If a shop lifter or employee is injured, juries could award an ASTRONOMICAL awards in the tens of millions of dollars. Recovering a few pressure washers is not worth the risk.
The democrats want that thievery. They made laws to allow stealing up to $1,000 worth at one time by one person. This was deliberate and intentional. They don’t believe in private property. They feel the “underclass” should be able to waltz right in and take what they want from their “oppressors.” The dems don’t care if innocent people are killed in the process.
If someone could be awarded $366 million (upheld on appeal so far) for "feeling discriminated against", then this man's family should be able to get something comparable for losing his life for simply doing his job while the companies in question encourage this lawless behavior for fear of being branded "racist" if they prevent criminals from stealing from them.
Victor Davis Hanson has been sounding the alarm about this for quite a while.

2% of the population commits 60% of the murders. Everyone knows what the problem is.
Killing shoplifters would end a lot of this.
